The NFL’s refusal to set a clear policy to stand for the national anthem has become a public embarrassment.
The second you applaud the league for making a great decision, they recant it and look even worse than before.
But just leave it to President Trump to destroy the NFL and all those anti-American anthem kneelers with just one tweet.
Nobody knows what the NFL is doing anymore. They’ve become like a schizophrenic with split-personalities trying to desperately plead for attention.
Since Colin Kaepernick first knelt for the anthem approximately two years ago, the disgraceful anti-American attitude has gotten exponentially worse.
Players all over the league followed in Kaepernick’s footsteps. Television ratings and stadium attendance went down, so the NFL had to do something, right?
Well, they didn’t. At least not at first. At first, the NFL went for a diplomatic solution, but both sides were too far apart.
Then finally, the league said enough was enough and implemented a new rule banning players from kneeling.
Only a couple of weeks later, the NFL and the NFL Players Association agreed to suspend the rule due to backlash, despite the growing number of boycotters who truly have a problem with the behavior surrounding our national anthem.
And Trump, thankfully, chimed in on it.
Here’s what he tweeted:
The NFL National Anthem Debate is alive and well again – can’t believe it! Isn’t it in contract that players must stand at attention, hand on heart? The $40,000,000 Commissioner must now make a stand. First time kneeling, out for game. Second time kneeling, out for season/no pay!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 20, 2018
That’s dang right!
Think about it, a commissioner who makes over $40 million a year has the malleability and flimsiness of a wet noodle.
That’s weak. He’s weak. That’s what Trump’s pointing out.
There are other ways these players can protest and not anger those trying to enjoy a sporting event because their family has given their life for the flag.
Adam “Pacman” Jones of the Cincinnati Bengals recently told all of those anthem-kneelers to “find another way” to protest. He’s right.
You don’t need to have your passion for social causes bleed into your profession where you’re paid to do the work required of your employer. Do that on your own time like the rest of society.
As an employee, you wouldn’t check out a customer in a grocery store by telling them the health risks against every product they are trying to buy, would you?
No, it’s none of your business what they buy and what they do with their money.
And it’s the same exact thing here. But those anthem-kneelers and the NFL are too daft to see that’s why these former fans are so upset.
But all of this stems from the document The Associated Press got their hands on in relation to the Miami Dolphins anthem-kneeling ban.
Dolphins’ owner Stephen Ross implemented an up to 4-game suspension for those who choose to kneel in the upcoming season.
Less than 24-hours later, the league suspended the rule because of the liberal backlash.
The Dolphins recanted. The NFL recanted.
It’s pathetic. But at least Trump will have them on their toes from now on.
Trump once told Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to tell all the owners, “Tell everybody, you can’t win this one. This one lifts me.”
Expect the NFL to come around very soon. And then probably flip-flop again.
