Trump Derangement Syndrome has caused all kinds of ridiculous outbursts.
Liberals have become completely unglued over the past five years, particularly in Hollywood.
And one Trump-deranged Hollywood star could go to jail for the insane thing he did.
Former Empire actor Jussie Smollett was found guilty of faking a hate crime against himself.
Smollett paid two associates to rough him up in a dark alley on a frigid night in downtown Chicago.
The far-left actor did so to gain sympathy and raise his profile in Hollywood.
After the police exhausted $130,000 of man hours to the case, the department discovered that it was all a poorly planned hoax.
George Soros-backed Chicago state’s attorney Kim Foxx let off Smollett—who has connections to Barack and Michelle Obama—with a walk, but a special prosecutor was brought in after backlash to Foxx’s absurd plea deal.
And the jury convicted Smollett on five of six counts in approximately nine hours:
Verdict in Jussie Smollett trial:
Count 1 – Guilty
Count 2 – Guilty
Count 3 – Guilty
Count 4 – Guilty
Count 5 – Guilty
Count 6 – Not guiltyHe faced six disorderly conduct charges for making false reports to police.

If the attack hadn’t been captured on camera, the corrosive lie might have stood, and it would’ve been used forever by the Left as another example of how terrible and irredeemable America is.
North Carolina lieutenant governor Mark Robinson excoriated Smollett for the deeply dangerous stunt he pulled.
Robinson wrote in a social media post:
“Jussie Smollett committed the ultimate act of disrespect; he spit on us. He spit on the collective graves of every black person murdered because of the color of their skin. He spit on the grave of every person murdered because of their lifestyle. He spit on the grave of every person murdered because of their political beliefs. He spit in the face of every American and America itself. He forged a sharp-edged weapon from a LIE and attempted to use it to tear open the old wounds of bigotry while bearing false witness against his political opponents and the Nation that has blessed him so richly.”
Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of the Smollett case is he absolutely refuses to take responsibility for what he did.
He maintains his innocence to this day despite the overwhelming evidence against him.
Special prosecutor Dan Webb said:
“Not only did Mr. Smollett lie to the police and wreak havoc here in this city for weeks on end for no reason whatsoever, but then he compounded the problem by lying under oath to a jury.”
Webb added that Smollett “insulted” the jury’s intelligence.
Smollett is likely to get less than a year in jail if he serves any time at all.
But the damage he did deserves a sterner punishment.
