Donald Trump is still living rent-free in the heads of Hollywood liberals.
They lost their collective minds during his presidency.
Now one Trump-deranged director insulted half the country with one insane statement.
Hollywood leftist Rob Reiner has been one of the most vocal anti-Trump radicals in the entertainment industry.
Even though Donald Trump is no longer in the White House, Reiner cannot stop talking about him.
Like so many other Democrats, Reiner has morphed his hatred of Trump into the vague “Trumpism.”
That was Reiner’s rationalization for saying that a vote for the GOP is a vote or “autocracy.”
The director appeared on MSNBC with Jonathan Capehart and said, “First of all, let’s dispense with the idea of Republican and Democrat, or conservative and liberal. We are talking about democracy versus autocracy. We see it happening all over the world. That’s one of the reasons Putin invaded Ukraine. He is wanting to destroy democracy.”
This is an absurd talking point.
The Democrats are the party of Big Government; they want to pack the Supreme Court, end the Senate filibuster, and nationalize election laws that supersede local election laws.
Democrats have even attempted lawsuits to stop Republicans like Madison Cawthorn and Marjorie Taylor Greene from running for re-election.
Reiner continued, “We have an election right now in France between Macron and Marine Le Pen, and we don’t know the results yet there, but that is also a test as to whether or not democracy or autocracy will survive in the world. So you have a man, former president of the United States, who led and incited a deadly insurrection to overthrow the United States government. He now is in control of one of the parties in this country.”
Again, Reiner’s argument about the French presidential election—that was won by Emmanuel Macron—does not make sense.
Macron is a globalist.
But the international left are all posing elections as threats to democracy.
According to the left, democracy only functions if they win.
Reiner added, “He controls every aspect of what he would now call the Republican Party. I don’t know what it is. This is an autocratic movement. So if you’re voting for Republicans, you’re not voting for Republicans. You’re voting for autocracy. You’re voting for the man who tried to overthrow the government. So that is what is at stake here. It’s much more than am I voting for a Republican or a Democrat.”
Reiner is clueless to the movements happening in the United States.
The Democrats are in danger of getting wiped out in the midterms, and it’s not because of “democracy” versus “autocracy.”
For example, Democratic voters in South Texas are leaning toward the Republican Party because their democratic say has been undermined by the Biden administration regarding illegal immigration.
Allowing hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into the country against the will of the people is not compatible with democracy.
