Tim Tebow is widely beloved.
The former NFL quarterback was forced to leave football several years ago and adapt to his obvious talents for baseball, where he currently plays in the minor leagues.
But the Charleston RiverDogs mocked Tim Tebow when his Columbia Fireflies were in town recently in a despicable way.
As Fireflies players came up to bat Saturday, the graphic on the scoreboard for players besides Tebow showed a picture of the player with Tebow crying in the background and read ‘Not Tim Tebow.’
Clearly they’re poking fun at Tebow’s celebrity while implying that none of his fellow teammates matter at all.
You can watch one video right here.
We’re not sure who IS batting, but we’re relatively sure it’s not @TimTebow. @MiLBPromos pic.twitter.com/EJIk2XfjdZ

But the Charleston RiverDogs didn’t stop there.

And if things couldn’t get any worse, when Tebow was at the plate, his bat slipped out of his hands and flew into the stands.

And then the RiverDogs shamelessly posted a picture of the bat and said they would turn it into firewood.
Big thanks to the fan that donated this to us. We needed some fire wood! pic.twitter.com/q9eUIjjKga

While most of the Fireflies fans certainly thought it was funny to make fun at Tebow’s expense, it was undoubtedly mean-spirited.
Maybe they’re just bitter because most of these players have worked their entire lives to get to the minor leagues and Tim Tebow reached their level in one year.
But the “humor” displayed by the Charleston RiverDogs could stem from one of their owners who has a long history of comedy.
The Comeback reports:
“That’s an impressive commitment to humor, so it’s probably not a surprise to you if you didn’t know that Bill Murray is a part owner of the team. (He and Anthony bourdain went to a game together on the Charleston episode of Parts Unknown.)
This is appropriate humor, as it’s not truly mean-spirited, but it does cut to the heart of why Tebow’s entire baseball venture feels so much like a sideshow and how it can overshadow his own teammates.”
It seems like they’re insinuating that Tebow is bad for the sport because his celebrity got him there.
While that also happened when Michael Jordan first retired from basketball and joined a minor league team, Tebow is way better than Jordan ever was at baseball.
Tim Tebow is a class act. Unfortunately pro sports and the media that covers it are pretty much run by left wing libturds who can’t stand the fact that he’s straight, white, Christian and conservative…..pretty much everything they hate.
