Tim Tebow is one of the most resilient American athletes we’ve ever seen. He’s defied all the odds.
His NFL career didn’t last very long so what did he do? The two-time National Champion jumped ship to play baseball and when everyone thought there was no way he would succeed, Tebow shut all his critics up and now he’s an inch away from playing in the big leagues.
But everybody goes through tragedy in their life and Tim Tebow and his fiancé just suffered through a horrendous one.
Tim Tebow has had one of the most remarkable athletic careers in American history.
Tebow was a larger-than-life figure when he attended the University of Florida and played quarterback for the Gators. He won two BCS National Championships and won the Heisman Trophy in 2007.
Then he was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2010 to backup Brady Quinn and Kyle Orton, but during the sixth game of the season, Tebow took hold of the reigns and led the Broncos to a playoff appearance while shockingly upsetting the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round.
His career dwindled and hitched a ride on a downward spiral until he couldn’t make a squad.
Most people would give up in that situation but not Tebow.
Unfortunately life functions in a way that it doesn’t matter how successful or rich you are, everybody suffers through tragedy at some point.
Tim Tebow’s fiancé, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, lost her 13-year-old sister over the weekend.
Nel-Peters’ sister, Franje, who brought the couple together through Tebow’s “Night to Shine,” which celebrates people with special needs, died suddenly on Saturday after battling an extremely rare lifelong condition called cerebellar agenesis, which is a condition where Franje was born without a cerebellum. It significantly affected her ability to walk and speak. This part of the brain regulates motor movements.
People poured their support, prayers and thoughts to the couple and Nel-Peters wrote, “Our hearts are aching beyond measure but I am grateful knowing she’s forever relieved of the pain she experienced on earth. She’s laughing, running and playing in heaven just like we always hoped she would on earth. She’s free! Thank you for all your prayers, love and support.”
Tebow wrote, “Our loss but heavens gain. So grateful for the hope we have of being reunited with the ones we love through our Heavenly Father. Mr & Mrs Peters and @demileighnp we are praying for you and love you so much.”

Nel-Peters is a very successful South African model and the pageant community extended their condolences like two former Miss Universe winners, Iris Mittenaere and Pia Wurztbach, commented on her social media post with “So sorry for your loss… sending you love,” and “Love you dearly Dems. You’re full of grace even in the hardest times.”
Tim Tebow is one of the best Christian American athletes and its hard to see such an amazing person suffer through such a horrendous tragedy.
