The FBI charged “Full House” star Lori Loughlin after she allegedly donated $500,000 to the University of Southern California’s Crew team so her daughters could get entry into the school. Husband and clothing designer Mossimo Giannulli was also charged as well.
They are both in a whole world of trouble and are facing years in prison if convicted of the crime.
And of course that comes with stress and there’s a crazy new update in the Lori Loughlin household that will make your jaw drop.
When the scandal first broke the University of Southern California posted on their website, “USC determined which applicants in the current admissions cycle are connected to the alleged scheme and they will be denied admission. A case-by-case review of current students who may be connected to the alleged scheme is also underway. We will make informed decisions about those cases as the reviews are completed.”
It was wise of them to distance the university from the Loughlin-Giannulli family as much as possible, which also made matters worse for Lori and Mossimo.
They are facing mail fraud and money laundering charges that could land them in serious prison time if convicted. Giannulli and Loughlin were each released on $1 million bonds after their arrests in March after rejecting the plea agreement.
Of course this would have a heavy toll on anyone. And apparently the Loughlin-Giannulli household is in complete shambles.
In fact, Loughlin’s friends believe it was Giannulli who “concocted” this scheme to get both of their daughters into USC, hinting that she had nothing to do with it. Nevertheless, the same source also said Loughlin believes she “doesn’t believe she should have to spend any time in prison.”
That’s flat-out paranoia in the household.
But it got even worse the same day actress Felicity Huffman pled guilty for bribing an unknown accomplice $15,000 to fix her daughter’s SAT scores so she could also get into a university she probably wouldn’t have gotten into.
Another source (could be a new or same source as before) told Entertainment Tonight that their eldest daughter, Olivia Jade, is estranged from her parents Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli.
The source claimed, “Lori’s situation has gone from bad to worse. Jail time has always been a possibility, but since more charges were filed her reality [of not serving time] seems grim. While the fact she could serve time never leaves her mind, she strongly believes she doesn’t deserve to. She truly feels it was all a misunderstanding.”
If the alleged charges are true then there’s no misunderstanding. It’s not like you can “accidentally” give a university $500,000 and expect people to believe it magically disappeared from their bank account.
The source also said, “Olivia Jade is totally over it and won’t listen to anything her parents say now. She is in no way ready to forgive anything her parents have done. Lori doesn’t understand Olivia’s reaction. She seems to feel her act was selfless and misunderstood and she wants to prove she had all the best intentions and even that she was, in some way, duped into breaking the law.”
Yikes. On one hand it’s understandable she would want to distance herself but on the other Olivia Jade seems incredibly ungrateful.
But apparently Olivia didn’t want to go to college.
The same source concluded, “[Olivia] feels this could have all been avoided had her mother listened to her when she expressed she wasn’t interested in going to college. The fact she has lost her business deals and can’t go out in public without being photographed and scrutinized is a constant reminder of what her mother has done.”
The turmoil will probably only get worse as the trial rapidly approaches.
