Late-night comedy has become a cesspool of recycled left-wing jokes.
But Greg Gutfeld is going against the grain and finding success.
And The Daily Show was furious at Gutfeld for becoming the king of late night.
Fox News host Greg Gutfeld is now the king of late-night television.
Gutfeld is drawing better ratings than Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Seth Meyers.
And liberals cannot stand it.
Fox cut a Super Bowl ad promoting Gutfeld as the king of late night, which triggered the left.

Lizz Winstead, who co-created The Daily Show for Comedy Central, had some choice words for Gutfeld and his designation as the king of late night comedy.
During a panel discussion, leftist commentator Dean Obeidallah asked Winstead, “Fox News is running ‘King of Late Night’ Greg Gutfeld dressed like a king and technically he starts at 11 PM Eastern Time, it’s half an hour earlier but he beat Colbert, Fallon, and Kimmel now consistently in the ratings. I don’t think it’s a fair comparison. I don’t know one comic going ‘I hope I get on Gutfeld!’…Lizz, you created ‘The Daily Show.’ Is Greg Gutfeld’s bullsh*t considered late night comedy show?”
When Obeidallah said that he doesn’t know any comics who are hoping to get on Gutfeld, he’s missing the entire reason why Gutfeld is number one in the ratings.
The old gatekeepers no longer have the power they once had.
It used to be a big deal to be a comedian and get on with Johnny Carson.
Today, getting on with Kimmel or Fallon doesn’t mean much.
A lot of the comedians who are doing well have gone independent.
Winstead responded, “Look, here’s what I always say, he ain’t funny to me but we see that there’s an audience out there for sh*t like that. There’s an audience out there for sh*t like Joe Rogan. There’s an audience out there of f*cking sh*tty people. Seventy million people voted for Trump, like Fox News. Those people are going to laugh at sh*t we think is f*cked up. So, you know, the bottom line is do I want them as my audience? No. I would never want to go on that show. It would never benefit me in any way. All that would happen was I’d try to be on there and you would just get trolls in your Twitter field from here to eternity.”
This is the attitude of the left.
They believe that the people who watch Fox News and Gutfeld are “sh*tty people.”
Gutfeld watchers are “deplorables,” so it doesn’t matter that he gets ratings.
Winstead added, “So is he funny? Not to me. But he makes jokes about sh*t that I care about, which is gross. I think that whole situation is gross but there is a market for it. The bottom line is there is a market for it. You know what else I think is gross? Golden Corral.”
The arrogance and tone-deafness of Winstead are why late night comedy shows are in the gutter; their chief goal is activism, not comedy.
