The Hollywood liberal elites lined up on Sunday in downtown Los Angeles waiting for the opportunity to pat each other on the back with golden statues. Is there anything worse than multimillionaires praising each other like the most important members of American society?
Just like many past awards shows, the 2019 Emmy Awards were as “woke” as they’ve ever been discussing pay inequality, global warming and illegal immigration at the southern border. It’s all the typical liberal talking points.
But Sunday’s “woke” Emmy Awards hit a new all-time ratings low.
The 2019 Emmy’s in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday attracted some of Hollywood’s biggest television stars like Brian Cranston, Anthony Anders, newcomer Pheobe Waller-Bridge, Jason Bateman, Don Cheadle, Michelle Williams and the entire cast of “Game of Thrones.”
A lot of big stars and a lot of hot steam was bloviated on Sunday night.
Maybe the most “woke” speech came from Caucasian actress Michelle Williams during her speech in her win for “Fosse/Verdon.”
The crux of her speech that really brought down the house was when she said, “The next time a woman, and especially a woman of color — because she makes 52 cents compared to her white male counterpart — tells you what she needs in order to do her job, listen to her, believe her. Because one day she might stand in front of you and say thank you for allowing her to succeed because of her workplace environment, and not in spite of it.”
That’s a little pandering don’t you think?
Clearly, Williams was referring to her co-star Mark Wahlberg in “All the Money in the World,” who was reportedly paid 8-times what she made in her original salary and twelve times after the production had to reshoot all of Kevin Spacey’s scenes following his exposure in the Me Too Scandal.
Don Cheadle also made it a point to talk about illegal immigration at the southern border and blaming it on President Trump’s administration without actually saying it directly.
“Woke” actress Patricia Arquette, a notorious social media liberal, said of illegal immigrants, “Give them jobs. They’re human beings. Let’s give them jobs. Let’s get rid of the bias that we have everywhere.”
Is anybody really surprised by the liberal propaganda?
Apparently most people expected it and that’s why the ratings for the 2019 Emmy Awards hit an all-time low according to initial metrics of the broadcast.
A meager 6.9 million viewers watched the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards. That’s a shocking figure.
According to Deadline, “That’s smack is a 32% fall in sets of overall eyeballs from the Monday airing of the show on NBC last year, and a 39% drop from the show’s previous Sunday airing on CBS in 2017. In addition, the decline this year from the last time Fox had the Emmys in 2015 is a hard-to-swallow 42%.”
One reason for the ratings failure could be because the Sunday Night Football matchup between the defending NFC Conference Champion Los Angeles Rams and the surging Cinderella story Cleveland Browns.
Or it could’ve been because it was aired on the Fox Network, which liberals hate for obvious reasons.
On the other hand, it could be because millions of Americans have no interest in watching a bunch of self-absorbed liberals being condescending about the direction they think America should point.
The ratings have fallen by approximately 57% since Andy Samberg hosted the Emmy’s four years ago in 2015 before Trump was even a serious contender in the Republican Party.
Go figure.
