Stephen A. Smith is inarguably the loudest bombastic personality in the entire sports media realm. In fact, to get his point across, he’ll either rudely interrupt or just yell louder than they will.
That’s probably why ESPN is about to make him the highest paid on-air personality on the network.
But Stephen A. Smith had several of the biggest meltdowns in sports media history this week.
The NBA draft lottery occurred on Tuesday night right before the Golden State Warriors destroyed the Portland Trail Blazers in the first game of the Western Conference Finals.
It was probably the most anticipated draft lottery show since 2003 when LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh. Only one of those players are still in the league now and you can probably guess who.
Every once in a while – in fact; they call them generational players for a reason – that was the most talked-about sought-after player since LeBron James and his name is Zion Williamson.
Zion Williamson played for Duke University this year and all the hype was real. He’s one of the most explosive NBA prospects since LeBron James – and you might argue even more so. Zion is one of the most athletically gifted anomalies we’ve ever seen.
He’s only 6’7” with a heavy 275-pound-plus frame but can jump out of the gym like we’ve never seen before. He can shoot. He can rebound. He can body anybody in the paint. Zion Williamson is phenomenal.
And nowhere could you see how coveted this young man was on NBA draft lottery night. Fourteen teams had a 1-14% of landing the number one pick and the New Orleans Pelicans came out on top.
But once the New Orleans Pelicans won the number one overall pick, Stephen A. lost his mind.
The first video he posted was laced with a lot of “DAMMITS,” and it definitely seems like he’s crying.
DAMMIT!!!!! Typical KNICKS!!!!! pic.twitter.com/rn0hDF0JdE

The reason why you can’t see him is because he pulled his car over to record the video and it was obviously dark out.
Then Stephen A. Smith needed to go to church and pray.
I had to go to church to send a prayer up for my Knicks! pic.twitter.com/csjzCsnN8p

And then he attacked the NBA with some sort of conspiracy theory.
Pure disgust from @stephenasmith this morning after the @NBA Draft Lottery 🤧 pic.twitter.com/KYzxyUAonG

Then he described his emotions throughout the process.
.@stephenasmith is not concerned about losing Zion.
The panic comes from jeopardizing what @nyknicks fans REALLY want and “what can go wrong, will go wrong”. pic.twitter.com/Cry13lhJTC

Finally he followed his hysteria up on his “Stephen A. Smith” show.
TODAY was one of the WORST days I’ve had in a VERY long time. pic.twitter.com/SEOfM3xKqk
