The anti-American anthem protests of 2016 and 2017 were terrible for the NFL’s bottom line.
Viewership decreased, and television ad revenue dwindled for the first time in years.
In light of such evidence, one team made a shrewd move with regard to an anthem protester and unbelievably caught flak for it.
The Seattle Seahawks had scheduled a workout with Colin Kaepernick, the pioneer of the disrespectful anthem protests, but canceled after he refused to commit to ending his protest.
Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long didn’t waste any time ripping the Seahawks.
From Breitbart:
Eagles defensive end Chris Long was one of the first white NFL players to lend support to black players who were protesting the national anthem. Now, Long has taken to Twitter to lend support to the NFL’s original anthem protester.
The Seattle Seahawks had planned a workout for Colin Kaepernick on Monday, but, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Seahawks canceled the visit after Kaepernick refused to cancel his protests:
On Friday, the day after news of the Kaepernick workout cancellation broke, the Seahawks signed quarterback Stephen Morris. Also on Friday, Eagles defensive lineman Chris Long ripped the Seahawks on Twitter for canceling Kaepernick’s workout:

So let me get this straight: SEA scheduled a workout w Kaep and 2 weeks later, cancels it on the grounds of social activism knowing full well what the fall out would be?

We know for a fact CK is being blackballed, but this lack of subtlety from an org like them would be shocking. 🤔
If there were a collusionary effort to keep Kaepernick out of the league, the Seahawks wouldn’t even have bothered to schedule a workout, and they certainly wouldn’t have openly canceled it on the grounds of the anthem protest.
The obvious explanation is Kaepernick is bad for business, and his limited ability as a player isn’t worth the media storm and negative feedback from patriotic fans.
Far-left ESPN hosts Max Kellerman and Michelle Beadle piled on.
More from Breitbart:
ESPN’s “First Take” co-host Max Kellerman blasted the NFL and the Seattle Seahawks Friday for reportedly calling off a workout with activist free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick, calling it a “punk move” and an “outrage.”
“This is a punk move by the NFL, the way they have handled the Kaepernick situation the whole time, it’s a punk move by Paul Allen and the Seattle Seahawks the way they’ve handled this situation,” Kellerman stated. “Everyone is describing it as a protest — I’ve done the same. In fact, let’s remember how this began: a voluntary ceremony, it’s not compulsory, your participation. It is voluntary.”
He later argued, “I am saying if each individual owner is essentially mandating participation in a supposedly voluntary ceremony, get on the record and say that is what you are doing. And the reason I doubt they will is because it’s one thing to say First Amendment rights don’t extend to the workplace. You can’t say whatever you want in the workplace. It is another thing is you must parrot the boss’ political speech. Standing for the anthem is political speech, whether you like it or not. I do not believe the boss can make Kaepernick parrot his speech.”

Friday on ESPN’s “Get Up!,” co-host Michelle Beadle lamented the “stupid mentality” that is keeping free agent quarterback and National Anthem kneeler Colin Kaepernick out of the NFL.
“I would hate to say that he doesn’t ever play football again because of such a stupid mentality that we’ve somehow gotten ourselves into,” Beadle said. “People who just shot so many venomous tweets and posters and the things that they have been saying instead of listening to why and trying to turn it into some sort of anti-military stance — which it never was.”
The Seahawks are considered one of the most “woke” teams in the league. The fact they recognize the anthem protests are both an ugly display and bad for business should be a signal of how toxic Colin Kaepernick has become.
He’s not worth the trouble.
