“Woke” entertainment is being jammed down the throats of viewers.
No matter how much viewers prove they don’t want it, they continue to get it.
And Saturday Night Live got some troubling news about their ratings.
Saturday Night Live spent the past five years bashing Donald Trump on a near-weekly basis.
Alec Baldwin portrayed him in the most spiteful way possible, and Robert De Niro—a staunch Trump critic—played Robert Mueller on several occasions when Democrats were pumping the Russiagate hoax.
The show has yet to go after Joe Biden with any real teeth.
However, the show did have on anti-woke Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and saw a ratings boost as a result.
But the ratings tumbled again in the succeeding week.
From Deadline:
“After Saturday Night Live‘s ratings rose sharply with host Elon Musk last week, they dropped to pre-Musk levels last night. The season’s penultimate episode…drew a 3.5 household Live+Same Day rating in the 44 metered local markets and a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters. That was down from the May 8 show, hosted by Musk with musical guest Miley Cyrus, which posted some of the season’s best numbers, averaging a 4.7 in overnight households and a 2.7 in adults 18-49…Last night’s results represent a new [household] season low and match a 18-49 low in the metered markets.”
Former SNL stars have pointed out the show’s blatant liberal bias, and fans have caught on, too.
The entire entertainment industry is moving in a “woke” direction.
Seemingly every movie and television show is clumsily jamming in a ham-fisted social justice message.
Productions are even being politicized behind the scenes.
For example, the Academy Awards instituted diversity quotas for films to be considered.
Actors and actresses are being barred from roles for ideological reasons.
Scarlett Johansson was harassed out of playing a role as a transgender man by radical activists.
Gina Carano was fired from Disney’s The Mandalorian for voting for Trump and expressing her views on Twitter.
But while the industry goes woke, more Americans are getting fed up with it.
After the Carano scandal, Disney+ saw a drop in subscriptions and fell short of revenue expectations by $636 million.
Anti-woke content is getting more popular, as are the people pushing back on establishment narratives.
Musk’s appearance on SNL proves that.
The Left views dissident views as such a threat, cast members were given the option of not appearing in sketches with Musk.
It goes to show that an individual can create something that the Left purportedly loves, i.e. a green car company, and he can still be hated for not toeing the line on every single issue.
The moment is ripe for a sketch show that’s willing to push back on the establishment narrative and poke fun at the Left.
