Leftists might have finally pushed too far.
The backlash against their fringe ideas has arrived.
And one ESPN host stunned everyone when she went against her “woke” bosses.
Leftists have been nudging Americans leftward for decades, but they may have turned up the heat too quickly.
The Democrat Media Complex has aggressively pushed Americans to get on board with radical transgenderism, but now the frogs are jumping out of the boiling pot.
The Biden administration, which has been publicly pushing the fringe “gender-affirming” care agenda, split the proverbial baby on the issue of males competing in female sports.
Recently, Biden announced that transgender and nonbinary kids could compete in whichever division they wanted in K-8, but high school and collegiate sports would be sex-segregated.
University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas – a biological male falsely claiming to be a woman – made a mockery of the women’s division by setting world records after being a middling-at-best swimmer in the men’s division the year prior.
Thomas recently called on the Biden administration to do more, which spurred ESPN host Samantha Ponder to speak out.
Ponder wrote in response, “This would take away so many opportunities for biological women and girls in sports. It is a shame that we are needing to fight for the integrity of Title IX in 2023 and the reason it was needed in the first place. #savewomensports.”

Ponder’s response was surprising considering ESPN is now “woke” and she’s bent the knee in the past on drummed up issues regarding race in the NFL; Ponder cried on air while discussing former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden’s untoward private emails being exposed.
However, the straw that broke the camel’s back might have been former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines getting physically assaulted and literally held hostage by a frothing mob at San Francisco State University.
Gaines was forced to watch Thomas take home her trophy during the NCAA finals; the two tied in one event, but the judges told Gaines that Thomas was going home with the trophy.
After the infuriating attack on Gaines, ESPN host Sage Steele, one of the few remaining unabashed conservatives at the network, denounced the violent attack and called on other women to speak up.
Are there any other women with public platforms willing to stand up for @Riley_Gaines_ & the millions of female athletes?? Or do we only stand up for those who fit certain narratives??
LADIES, WHERE ARE YOU?
Media…Hollywood…hello?!?! We MUST come together on this!! https://t.co/lxONhYkm3L— Sage Steele (@sagesteele) April 7, 2023
Recently, Thomas was honored on ESPN during Women’s History Month, and Steele was the only woman at the network to say anything about it.
With Ponder speaking out, perhaps others will do so as well.
However, she could find herself on the way out like the others who have challenged the leftist orthodoxy.
Hall of Fame NFL coach Mike Ditka and World Series MVP Curt Schilling were both shoved out the door for their conservative opinions.
Commentator Will Cain saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship for Fox News before he got the big boot.
Sideline reporter Allison Williams was forced to quit because she did not want to get the COVID vaccine while she was pregnant.
But with Disney, who co-owns the sports network, clearly headed in a “woke” direction, Ponder might want to keep her head on a swivel.
