Rob Reiner might be one of the most delusional Hollywood elitists in the entire industry.
The famous director has been making headlines every single week due to his anti-Trump outbursts.
And now, Reiner has officially jumped all the way overboard with this latest unhinged rant.
Rob Reiner used to be one of the great up-and-coming directors of his generation because he made timeless classics like Stand By Me, The Princess Bride and This is Spinal Tap! when he was young.
Sure, he got a lot of help from his father, Carl Reiner, because nepotism is one of the most important factors in making it in Hollywood, but he did some good stuff once upon a time.
And while Reiner has become completely delusional with his anti-Trump rants in the last several months, when he said that we are on the verge of the “last stage of a civil war,” you know he had completely lost his mind.
On Wednesday, Reiner appeared on MSNBC’s Live with Katy Tur for an interview and made the argument that media institutions like Fox News and Breitbart are “trafficking in another narrative,” implying that what they report is being divisive. He also defended the Washington Post and the New York Times as having completely opposite content, which is inherently false.
Reiner said, “I think of it as two mainstream medias. You have the Washington Post, the New York Times, all the networks except for Fox, working very hard to get the truth out.”
What laughable nonsense does he think he’s perpetuating here? To make a statement as petty as that these liberal institutions have been doing hard work in the name of democracy while Fox News has become the face of evil is about as delusional as it gets.
Reiner continued, “This is the first time that you have mainstream media essentially divided into two halves, so that you have Fox, Breitbart, Sinclair, and Alex Jones, which has now been taken off of Facebook, thank God, you know, trafficking in another narrative.”
Different perspectives frighten liberals, and especially Hollywood celebrities, because the narrative goes against their beliefs.
What’s important to understand about these elitists is that anything outside of their bubble purview is a danger to how they think, and that’s why they retaliate against any ideology refuting it.
Reiner also added, “[W]e are in it right now, it might be the last stage of a civil war. The last battle is being fought. Hopefully, it won’t be fought physically, but we are more divided than we ever have been and we’ve got a president who is backed up by media.”
The only reason we’re so “divided” right now is because liberals can’t accept that Donald Trump is the duly elected president. Otherwise, they would be sitting back in their comfy houses praising Hillary Clinton as if she’s some kind of superhero savior.
Reiner also said, “Presidents have always spewed propaganda—liberals, Democrats, and Republicans. They always have…to push a policy, to push a rationale to go to war. But they’ve never been backed up by, essentially, in a sense, state-run media. That’s new–and social media, it’s all new. And it’s very, very scary right now.”
Who is talking about war right now?
Do you see how ridiculous what he’s saying really is? He’s arguing that institutions like Fox News and Breitbart are begging for a civil war between Americans when, in fact, the opposite is more likely.
It’s the liberal mainstream media that is perpetuating anti-Trump propaganda that has the country all riled up.
And those fake news institutions have never given Trump a fair shake at being president.
When’s the last time they said anything positive about any of his policies? Can you name one time? This is how delusional these people are. Not to mention, all of these Hollywood elitists live in a bubble when they’re simultaneously claiming that the rest of America does.
Reiner has become such a clown over the last couple of months that it’s no wonder his film career has gone so downhill.
