President Donald Trump has officially been impeached on two counts by the United States House of Representatives led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
But one of the funniest things, if you surfed Twitter on the day Trump was impeached, is the staggering number of liberals who thought that his impeachment by the House meant that he would be removed from office immediately. The reality is that the articles of impeachment are supposed to go to the Senate where there will be a trial dedicated to his acquittal or removal.
Furthermore, this just goes to show you how many uniformed or misinformed liberals there are. One of them is Hollywood elitist Rob Reiner who recently proved he never took a civics class in school with an outrageous claim about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Rob Reiner was once a great filmmaker who’s known for directing such classics as “The Princess Bride,” “Stand By Me,” “When Harry Met Sally” and “This is Spinal Tap.”
But although his career has floundered in recent years due to a string of box-office duds, Reiner is primarily known as one of Hollywood’s biggest anti-President Trump celebrities.
He appears on all of the liberal news networks frequently like CNN and MSNBC, and he’s also a regular on propaganda shows like HBO’s “Real Time w/ Bill Maher.” The “Wolf of Wall Street” actor has called Trump supporters racist by saying, “If you support [Donald Trump], there can be no distinction between you being a racist and a racist enabler. They are the same.”
Reiner has said some outrageous things about Trump and his supporters over the years and was recently overjoyed about the United States House of Representatives impeaching Trump last week.
The process of impeachment starts in the House, but the articles are then sent to the Senate where there is a trial where they decide whether to remove the president from office. The House, even Speaker Pelosi, has no control over the process following the vote.
But that didn’t stop Reiner from writing, “Republicans are seeing what a real leader looks like. And they’d be wise not to mess with Speaker Pelosi. She will insure a fair Senate trial. She will insure the public sees that this President has committed Abuse of Power & Obstruction of Congress. She will insure the truth.”

First off, Reiner should know the difference between “insure” and “ensure.” That’s atrocious grammar for an acclaimed director.
But the poor grammar is ironically a good indicator that he never took a civics class in college either because the above tweet is grossly inaccurate.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi can no longer “insure” the public anything at this point because her job is officially over. It’s completely up to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Senators to decide whether to officially remove President Trump from office.
There’s a trial and then a vote. That’s it.
Some would argue that the reason why Speaker Pelosi hasn’t officially sent the Articles of Impeachment to Sen. McConnell yet is because she’s utilizing a long con tactic to try and negotiate certain terms for the Senate trial like specific witnesses’ testimony.
But McConnell was bluntly apathetic and not buying this grifter tactic by Pelosi.
Nevertheless, this is basic civics and it’s insulting that people of famous stature like Reiner perpetuate these false narratives. It’s dangerous and his liberal fans will take it as a fact because he said it.
