The war in Ukraine has spurred a lot of horrible takes from public figures.
Hollywood celebrities have been particularly bad in this regard.
That’s why a pro-Trump actor slammed a “woke” musician for one dumb Ukraine comment.
Republican actor Nick Searcy, who was a series regular on the hit show Justified, is not afraid to speak his mind.
Many conservatives in Hollywood simply keep their head down so as not to disrupt their careers, but Searcy is willing to throw haymakers.
And that’s what he did when “woke” 1980s pop star Richard Marx started spouting off about Ukraine and other political issues.
Marx tweeted:
“To those of us who are ACTUAL patriots, it is and has always been crystal clear. If you’re a white nationalist…if you’re praising Putin…if you’re against CRT…if you want to make it harder for [people of color] to vote…if you defend January 6…you are a traitor and an enemy of democracy.”
It’s ridiculous to conflate all of these disparate threads.
CRT (critical race theory) is a radical neo-Marxist philosophy intended to divide society along racial lines.
People who oppose CRT believe in a color-blind society, which is what the old left strived for.
But now the left has been overrun by fringe radicals who want to detonate society.
Conservative author and political commentator Kurt Schlichter, a retired Colonel in the Army, responded to Marx, “While he was making sh*tty music some of us were serving in the Cold War.”
Marx replied to Schlichter by stupidly calling him a “white nationalist prick.”
That’s when Searcy lit him up.
Searcy shot back, “I hear Richard Mark has canceled his gig in front of 35 snoring fans at the Franklin Theatre (capacity: 630) so that he can go help the Ukrainians by singing to the Russian soldiers, thereby causing many of them to commit suicide.”
Marx responded, but missed the target when he said, “Incorrect, Nick. Playing three nights at that beautiful theater. Just me and my guitar. So grateful after 35 years to still be touring. Though your acting career is toast it’s nice to see your side-gig as a boring traitorous assbag is thriving.”
Searcy has been consistently acting and directing for years, so Marx’s attack fell flat again.
Searcy retorted, “Sorry I can’t make it there to hear your 80s hit, Richard. I’ll be shooting the 4th feature film I’ve done in the past 12 months, all of which will be released in 2022…But thanks for writing! Write back if you ever write a new song! Maybe I’ll hear it in an elevator someday!”
Liberal clowns like Marx are so deep inside the leftist cult, they don’t even realize how ridiculous they sound to the average person.
Fortunately, people like Searcy are around to put Hollywood cultists in their place.
The entertainment industry needs more outlets for conservatives like Searcy can work so they can speak their mind and have a place to make movies that share their values.
