Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to chase controversy.
And their latest media project has given them what they yearn for so much.
But Harry and Meghan were just torn to shreds with these three words.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have sought the attention of the Hollywood kingmakers.
They have received such attention by bashing the Royal Family.
During a bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview, the Sussex Royals accused the family of racism, and echoed similar claims in their latest Netflix docuseries.
However, their act could be running stale.
Hollywood trades publication Variety accused the couple of being a “one-trick pony,” meaning they’ve gone to the “blame the Royal Family” well one too many times.
From Variety:
“[J]ust when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would seem to be proving their enduring popularity, it’s the very thing any media company in business with them should be questioning. That’s because some skepticism is warranted regarding whether they’ve finally gone to the well one too many times with their oft-repeated tale of mistreatment at the hands of England’s royal family…While the success of their Netflix docuseries demonstrates that the audience’s curiosity wasn’t sated by last year’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, how much more meat could possibly be left on this bone, especially once Harry’s own take, ‘Spare,’ arrives in print?”
That argument is buttressed by the fact that the Sussex Royals continue to glom onto the family when they claimed they wanted a clean break.
Harry and Meghan want it both ways; they want the family name without any of the family responsibilities.
Variety continued:
“There can only be so many revelations left to share with the public now that the couple have exiled themselves away from their fractious coexistence with the monarchy. Given that they’ve beaten this horse to death, perhaps this one-trick pony is due for the glue factory…Penguin is paying Harry a reported $20 million advance for ‘Spare,’ and it could be the first of as many as four books, which begs the questions, What on earth will the other three be about, and will anyone care?”
With Charles’s coronation set for the spring, there’s already talk about whether or not Harry and Meghan will attend.
They apparently want an apology from the Royal Family, but it does not appear that one is forthcoming.
Former Tory politician David Mellor argued, “They shouldn’t come to the Coronation. They categorically shouldn’t come. They make money out of selling their family down the river. I think it should be made clear that the British people do not want them there…[Brittons] would be perfectly entitled to boo if the couple did turn up…They are a sad pair and there is no hope for them on their current course.”
That will likely fuel their next grievance affair in the months leading up to the ceremony.
People have caught onto Harry and Meghan’s game and they’re sick and tired of it.
