Nearly every industry is closed for business due to the growing global threat of the Chinese coronavirus.
All sports have been canceled leaving the industry’s journalism world stuck with discussing old tired topics or playing reruns of old games. They all have nothing better to do right now and it shows.
But President Trump promised one thing about sports that you’ll love to hear.
Thankfully we have President Trump in the driver’s seat during this global pandemic induced by the Chinese coronavirus. Can you imagine what the state of America would be right now if it was anybody other than Trump at the helm?
What if it was Hillary Clinton? Hillary would’ve botched the coronavirus response worse than she did in the 2012 Benghazi attack where Libyan insurgents attacked two different United States government facilities.
Liberals would love to tell you that this Chinese coronavirus wouldn’t have ravaged America with Hillary Clinton handing down orders; but if she couldn’t protect Americans then, what makes you suspect she could have adequately protected you now?
We are in global stagnation with the Chinese coronavirus sparking stay-at-home orders all across the world. Some industries even came to an abrupt screeching halt in mid-March. And the longer we stay at home, the more doubt it creates that America will go back to the way it was sooner than later. Sports might be forever changed with new guidelines moving forward.
But President Trump has a message for anybody wondering about the aforementioned. He wants you to know that “sports will be the way they used to be.”
President Trump said he told the team owner, “Your stadiums are gonna be the way they’ve been for the last 100 years. Sports will be the way they used to be. I told one of the owners, he said, ‘Do you think I should take out seats?’ I said, ‘No, you shouldn’t take out seats.’ We’re gonna have it the way it was. We’re gonna be back. This virus will eventually be gone. And if it should show up in the fall, we’re gonna put it out very fast. We have great people. We’re gonna put it out very fast.”
This is the kind of optimistic tone we need coming from the White House, which is something we would have never gotten from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton if she had defeated Trump in 2016.
Dr. Anthony Fauci says he expects phase 3 of the reopening of America – where nonessential businesses will be up and running – by August or September.
Earlier this month, in a conference call with major league sports commissioners, President Donald Trump said he believes the NFL season should start on time.
Later that day at the White House, President Trump said, “I want fans back in the arenas. I think it’s… whenever we’re ready. As soon as we can, obviously. And the fans want to be back, too. They want to see basketball and baseball and football and hockey. They want to see their sports. They want to go out onto the golf courses and breathe nice, clean, beautiful fresh air.”
Sports returning would be a welcome distraction from the Chinese coronavirus’ spread and it’s great that President Trump has a plan in place to make sure life returns to normal sooner rather than later.
