Fans can no longer escape the invasion of wokeness into sports.
Major League Baseball is the next professional organization to fall prey to the culture wars.
But a new poll shows the MLB made one disastrous decision moving the all-star game.
Major League Baseball buckled under the weight of a propaganda campaign launched by Joe Biden, failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, and the corporate press.
The Democrat Media Complex pumped the lie that Georgia’s new voting law was “Jim Crow on steroids,” as Biden disgustingly put it.
The bill actually expands voter access, but provides added safeguards against fraud.
Nevertheless, the MLB caved to the mob and moved its 2021 all-star game out of the state.
But the move backfired.
Not only did it cost business in Atlanta over $100 million in lost revenue, but it tanked favorability with the MLB.
According to a Morning Consult, Republican favorability for the MLB went from +47 to +12, a staggering 35-point drop.
From Morning Consult:
“MLB is the latest sports property to fall out of favor with Republicans following its decision to pull its upcoming All-Star Game and draft out of Atlanta in response to Georgia’s new voting law that changes how elections are administered. As a result, Republicans now have a less favorable view than Democrats of all four major U.S. sports leagues.”
It’s a stunning development that all four major sports leagues have fallen so far in the eyes of Republicans.
Since January 2020, the NFL has gone from roughly +35 to +16, and the NBA has gone from +20 to -5; the NHL has largely stayed out of the culture wars and has only moved from +30 to +26.
The full embrace of the radical Black Lives Matter movement has alienated fans, particularly Republicans who get sick of being inundated with leftist messaging.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred made a ridiculous move.
He lost Republican fans and didn’t gain in Democrat fans, all for a bill that wasn’t even politically popular.
This is how the Democrat Media Complex operates.
They give the appearance of consensus through their cultural megaphone, but it’s a façade.
Nobody would be talking about Georgia’s bill being “Jim Crow 2.0” if it weren’t for the dishonest corporate press promulgating that lie and celebrities trumpeting it.
The MLB took the bait, and they’ve perhaps permanently damaged their brand.
The MLB’s move prompted a copycat effect among Hollywood film productions, but the economic impact is causing Democrats to pump the brakes on the incendiary rhetoric.
Film productions are now saying they might not move out of Georgia.
Once again, the unintended consequences of Democrat policies strike.
The Democrats narrowly held onto their House majority and won both Georgia run-offs due to a unique set of circumstances, but the midterms are not shaping up well for the party.
Punishing Georgians over a lie about the new voting bill will not endear voters to the Democrats.
