New York governor Andrew Cuomo has been one of the worst politicians at handling the Wuhan virus.
He’s used the virus as an excuse to seize more power.
But one NFL team just gave Cuomo the embarrassment of his life.
The Buffalo Bills had not won their division since 1999, which is the last time the Bills hosted a playoff game.
Buffalo also hadn’t won a playoff game since 1995.
But the Bills broke both of those misery streaks this year by winning the AFC East and defeating the Indianapolis Colts in the Wildcard round of the playoffs.
And there was one prominent fan missing from the stands: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Cuomo had initially planned to attend the game, but Bills started a petition to ban the governor from showing up.
Fans posted a petition at the Change.org website that read:
“So Cuomo is going to attend our playoff game after telling us that we can only attend at less than 10% capacity? If he thinks he has more right to a seat in that stadium over people who have waited over 20 years for this opportunity, then people better be there to protest his entry. This is OUR team! This is OUR home. We don’t want you here.”
After eclipsing 44,000 signatures backed out of attending the game.
Bills fans have been much maligned over the years.
Even starting quarterback Josh Allen was criticized by ESPN for having fans that like the American flag and dogs.
Bills nation did not want their moment sullied by Cuomo, especially considering he would’ve been attending the game over tens of thousands of fans who weren’t allowed to attend because of Cuomo’s strict COVID-19 guidelines.
Cuomo has one of the worst records on COVID of any politician; he won’t even release the data on the full extent of his epic blunder to put infected patients back into nursing homes.
Despite having one of the worst death rates in the world, Cuomo was regarded as “America’s governor” by the so-called mainstream media and awarded an Emmy for his televised COVID briefings.
Some in the corporate press even speculated he might’ve run for president, but he had the “Buffalo Billions” pay-for-play corruption scandal hanging over his head.
Bills fans shaming Cuomo into backing out exposed yet another episode of Democrat hypocrisy regarding the virus.
Cuomo was planning to waltz into the stadium when only a handful of fans were allowed in.
The governor also had to rearrange his holiday plans after admitting he was planning to have dinner with his mother and his children.
Cuomo was one of several Democrat lawmakers caught violating their own COVID orders.
California Gavin Newsom was perhaps the worst violator when he got busted twice attending lavish indoor dinners while his state was locked down.
Bills fans will get the chance to host another home playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens, and Cuomo likely will not be in attendance for that one, either.
