The Hollywood industry thinks they’re immune to the kind of hypocrisy that they perpetuate.
But what they don’t realize is that the rest of America is on to them. They see it.
And one legendary rapper was blindsided by this hypocrisy that everybody else called him out on.
Not only that, in the nearly 50 people charged in the scandal, some of them paid to have altered SAT scores for their kids to get them into schools they weren’t necessarily academically gifted for.
Lori Loughlin and her famous husband clothing designer, Mossimo Giannulli – made famous for his clothes sold at Target retailers – were charged with donating $500,000 to the University of Southern California’s “Crew Team” – playing as if their daughter – Instagram celebrity, Olivia Jade, was on the team.
She wasn’t on the team. In fact, at the time both Loughlin and Giannuli were snatched up by the FBI, Olivia Jade was cruising around on a luxury yacht with a USC donor. As if it couldn’t look any worse.
But here’s the thing; it was a massive scandal that didn’t really shock the nation because most of us regular folks have known these kind of shenanigans from wealthy people has dated back to the invention of the American university. This isn’t surprising.
Loughlin and Giannuli, nevertheless, were charged with a felony Mail Fraud as a result.
But then legendary rapper Dr. Dre just posted a prideful picture of him posing with his 18-year-old daughter with a caption that said, “My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!”

As if that wasn’t tone deaf to say something like “No jail time!!!” Buckle-up because it’s about to get worse.
The irony is that Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, his longtime partner in crime in the music industry, donated $70 million to USC to establish the “USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation.”
Truly Young, wrote in an Instagram post, “All my hard work paid off. I’m going to film school. I’m really just the happiest girl in the world.”
So here’s the thing. It’s not that Young isn’t gifted. It’s unknown whether she excelled in academics. Dr. Dre’s daughter genuinely could be a savant and those two things aren’t mutual exclusive.
But would USC really turn her admission down considering the generous donation from her father? There’s absolutely no way and we have no idea how to reconcile what would be true or not.
It’s obvious though that when it comes to wealthy parents getting their kids into prestigious schools is that nepotism is real.
Wealthy parents will do anything to carve the path for their child if they can dole out money to accomplish it.
Doesn’t everyone already know that?
Although Loughlin and her husband were charged with Mail Fraud in a nationwide FBI probe, it’s still unclear as to the specifics of how this is different from what the infamous rapper did.
Does it matter?
WE ALL KNOW THIS HAPPENS.
