Christianity is under attack.
Liberals can’t stand religious people and want their views stamped out.
But one Major League Baseball player almost had his livelihood damaged because of his Christian beliefs.
The Left’s War On Religion
Liberals’ dislike of Christians is obvious.
Barack Obama disparaged middle America for “clinging to their guns and religion.”
Religion is an obstacle to the left’s agenda.
It’s hard to make people believe in the all-powerful state when they answer to a higher power.
That’s why the left is always working hard to secularize the country.
Leftists protect religion only when it serves their agenda.
The Catholic Church finds itself in the midst of scandal.
Pope Francis allegedly covered up sexual abuse committed by a priest.
Normally liberals would be furious.
The film “Spotlight” chronicled abuse in the Catholic Church and won the Oscar for Best Picture.
But now the left runs interference for Pope Francis because he’s a leftist who pushes for climate change and expansive immigration policies.
Religious Freedom Is Not Safe
Liberals always talk about tolerance, but they are completely intolerant of religious people.
They don’t think Christians should express their beliefs.
The case of the Christian baker in Colorado went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The court ruled 7-2 in the baker’s favor, but with a narrow scope.
The court determined that the Colorado Civil Rights Commission targeted him. Leftists still go after him, so the matter persists.
Christians are not looking to impose their beliefs on others.
But the left won’t extend that same courtesy to Christians.
That’s why Hollywood actors like Andrew Garfield and late-nite comics like Jimmy Kimmel mock Christians for their choices.
Daniel Murphy Under Fire
Christian professional athletes are not safe from liberals, either.
Journalists mocked Tim Tebow for his religious beliefs.
They said his act of praying on the field was a sign of showing off.
A women’s soccer player was disinvited from the National Team for being against wearing gay pride jerseys.
Even an NFL cheerleader faced backlash for her Christian views.
The latest religious athlete in the hot seat is MLB player Daniel Murphy.
Murphy, a devout Christian, spoke out and said he disagreed with the gay lifestyle.
For that crime, gay rights groups hounded him.
Murphy made the comment when asked about MLB Ambassador Of Inclusion Billy Bean, who is openly gay.
Recently, the Chicago Cubs said they almost didn’t trade for him because of the statements he made three years ago.
Since several people have asked…yes, I was consulted prior to the Daniel Murphy trade. There were several thoughtful conversations among Cubs executives, my brothers and me, as well as with Billy Bean, MLB’s Ambassador for Inclusion and the subject of Daniel’s 2015 comments.

Murphy said, “I do disagree with the fact that Billy [Bean] is a homosexual…That doesn’t mean I can’t still invest in him and get to know him.”
If Murphy were a vegan and Bean were on the carnivore diet, leftis groups would shower Murphy with praise.
Murphy continued, “I don’t think the fact that someone is a homosexual should completely shut the door on investing in them in a relational aspect. Getting to know him. That, I would say, you can still accept them, but I do disagree with the lifestyle, 100 percent.”
Murphy also claimed perhaps Christians just have a messaging problem.
He said, “Maybe, as a Christian, that we haven’t been as articulate enough in describing what our actual stance is on homosexuality. We love the people. We disagree the lifestyle.”
Murphy’s statements are reasonable and compassionate. But the left believes everyone must agree with everything the left promotes.
