O.J. Simpson became one of the most infamous people in U.S. history when he was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her then-boyfriend Ron Goldman.
It was a double murder that rocked the nation and ultimately led to a yearlong “Trial of the Century,” it was nicknamed that because of its high-profile nature given O.J. was a famous hall of fame running back for the Buffalo Bills and then became an actor after his procareer was over.
And now O.J. Simpson’s back in the news again with a new agenda and this time it’s both appalling and bizarre at the same time.
He’s one of the most infamous people in American history. O.J. Simpson was an icon with the Buffalo Bills and then after his stellar NFL career, he turned to movies and was an actor for nearly twenty years before the “Trial of the Century.”
Although he was found not guilty of both first-degree murder charges, the court of public opinion amongst a vast majority of Americans believe he got away with it.
But after a long trial and the potential of spending the rest of his life in prison, one would think Simpson would attempt to spend the rest of his life in peace regardless of the public’s perception of him.
It was the complete opposite. He craves the spotlight, even worse, couldn’t stay out of trouble. In 2008, Simpson was convicted of robbing a memorabilia salesman for allegedly stealing his personal items and was sentenced to a staggering 34 years in prison for it.
And it’s because the disgraced former athlete has officially joined Twitter.
If you think this was just an ordinary Twitter first-timer then you are sadly mistaken because he said some gross and appalling things in the process.
On June 14th, an unverified Twitter account, TheRealOJ32, popped up causing most people to be skeptical, but his attorney Malcolm LaVergne confirmed it was him and it was real. It read, “Coming Soon!!!” No, it couldn’t be, right? It, sure enough, was because the first video posted with the post was of the most infamous people in American history.
Towards the end of the video, he says something truly bizarre: “[Twitter] should be a lot of fun. I’ve got a little getting even to do. So God bless, take care.”
Getting even to do? Uhhh, maybe he should’ve consulted with someone to choose his words more carefully because coming from the most famous case of someone getting away with murder saying that at the end is beyond alarming.
But it was the second video he posted that caused people to be rightfully uproariously angry.
Simpson’s standing on the patio deck of a pool with cabanas all around and he said, “Hey Twitter world. You know, for years people have been able to say whatever they want to say about me with no accountability. But now I get to challenge a lot of that BS and set the record straight. More importantly, I’ll be able to talk about everything, especially sports and fantasy football, and even politics. But for now let me just say, to my fellow fathers out there: happy Father’s Day.”
Keep in mind too that although Simpson was found not guilty for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, he was found guilty in Civil Court for their murders and the judge ordered him to pay the parents of Goldman 32 million dollars.
Apparently, Simpson believes the public perception against him is cruel. That he’s never had a chance to tell “his side of the story,” – lest you forget he literally wrote a “hypothetical” disgusting book called “if I did it,” where he describes what he would have truly done if he was the real killer.
