O.J. Simpson has officially joined Twitter and it’s honestly one of the weirdest things on the Internet.
The infamous former athlete and actor was on trial for murdering his then-ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her then-boyfriend Ronald Goldman in the 1990s – “The Trial of the Century.” And now he’s on Twitter acting like most people don’t assume the worst about him despite his not-guilty verdict.
But O.J. Simpson did blast Democrats for this one anti-President Trump thing.
There was the Oscar winning ESPN documentary “O.J.: Made in America” and then there was the hit FX television “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” which won the Golden Globe and Emmy Award for Best Miniseries.
And then he got released from prison after he made parole for his 2008 Las Vegas robbery charges where he held a memorabilia dealer at gunpoint for allegedly stealing his “personal property.”
He was sentenced to 32 years in prison and made parole after only nine years.
But now that he’s out on parole, O.J. Simpson thought it would be a novel idea to officially join Twitter; already posting several videos claiming he was going to get back at his staunchest critics.
He’s already accumulated nearly a million followers in the month or so since joining Twitter.
And then he blasted Democrats in his latest video. He pondered what’s happening in America.
Simpson said, “I get home and I’m watching politics and I see where this one party pushed a measure to the floor that they knew they couldn’t pass — that would’ve made them look divided, which they did. The other party looked like a team, like they were totally together. They all voted the same way.”
He’s referring to the House voting 332-95 to postpone a resolution calling for the impeachment of Trump on Wednesday – exposing a continuing division among Democrats over whether to impeach the president.
The vote delivered a decisive defeat to the 95 Democrats who voted for the resolution to proceed. It was also a victory for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who has argued that any attempt to impeach Trump would likely end in failure and strengthen Trump. The thought being the only way to defeat him is at the ballot box.
Simpson joined Twitter at an odd time nearly a month ago and many believed it was orchestrated because coincidentally it coincided with the 25th anniversary of his infamous white Bronco chase through the streets of Los Angeles.
He’s also criticized disgraced former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Simpson said, “Lately, I saw what Kaepernick pointed out — that the Betsy Ross flag was being used by some negative groups as their symbol. Well, I say don’t let the negative win. As far as I’m concerned, that flag represents the birth of America.”
In another video, Simpson’s standing on the patio deck of a pool with cabanas all around and he said, “Hey Twitter world. You know, for years people have been able to say whatever they want to say about me with no accountability. But now I get to challenge a lot of that BS and set the record straight. More importantly, I’ll be able to talk about everything, especially sports and fantasy football, and even politics. But for now let me just say, to my fellow fathers out there: happy Father’s Day.”
Simpson apparently loves sharing his opinions. Although most people believe he did get away with that gross crime in “The Trial of the Century,” he’s not wrong in his opinion here.
