Professional sports have become a soft target for hard-left radicals.
Activists have convinced the “big four” pro leagues to participate in propaganda.
And one NHL team put this mind-numbing “woke” message on Twitter.
Even though sports fans, particularly NHL fans, tend to lean more conservative, they are being inundated with “woke” messaging.
For example, the NHL has been pushing diversity, equity, inclusivity (DEI) as well as homosexual pride events.
Philadelphia Flyers star Ivan Provorov was hectored mercilessly by the sports media for declining to wear a rainbow pride jersey.
Now San Jose Sharks goalie James Reimer is in the wringer for doing the same.
The Sharks put out an inane “woke” promoting gender fluidity and other nonsense.
The official Sharks Twitter account wrote, “During tonight’s game, in lieu of our normal game content, we will be using this platform to offer information and facts about LGBTQIA+ topics…Our hope is that this content will serve as a reminder that there are issues more important than goals, highlights and wins. Hockey is not for everyone until everyone is comfortable playing, working, or being a fan of this incredible game.”
Then whichever “woke” millennial was running the Twitter account began talking about indigenous tribes.
The account continued, “The muxe gender is a respected third gender in Zapotec cultures in Oaxaca, Mexico, that has existed for centuries. Gunaa are those who were born as men but who identify as women & are attracted to men. The Nguii are those who were born as men and are attracted to other men. The Ninauposkitzipxpe were honored as a third gender in the North Peigan tribe of the Blackfoot Confederacy in northern Montana and Southern Alberta, Canada. In some Native American cultures, the umbrella term to describe a third gender is ‘two-spirit.’ In South Asia, it’s hijras. In Thailand, it’s kathoeys. In Ethiopia, it’s ashtime. In Polynesia, it’s fa’afafine. And many more.”
These are the radicals pushing claptrap on all of society.
Reimer chose not to participate and wrote on social media, “For all 13 years of my NHL career, I have been a Christian — not just in title, but in how I choose to live my life daily. I have a personal faith in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for my sins and, in response, asks me to love everyone and follow him…I have no hate in my heart for anyone, and I have always strived to treat everyone that I encounter with respect and kindness.”
In response to Reimer’s message, the team doubled down on its pride message but did respect his right to opt out of the event.
The Sharks wrote, “As we promote these standards, we also acknowledge and accept the rights of individuals to express themselves, including how or whether they choose to express their beliefs, regardless of the cause or topic. As an organization, we will not waver in our support of the LGBTQIA+ community and continue to encourage others to engage in active allyship.”
The activists have gone so far left that people have to explain why they’re opting out of political events.
