The NFL has snowballed into such a catastrophe that even though it’s the offseason, they just can’t stay out of the headlines.
Last month, the league implemented a new rule that will prevent all players from protesting the national anthem for the upcoming season.
But one franchise took it a step further that shocked all of the anti-American anthem-kneelers in the NFL.
How did the NFL find itself in this pickle?
The protests began when disgraced former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick first knelt during the pregame anthem.
Slowly but surely, more and more players carried on Kaepernick’s anti-American legacy and the NFL finally realized they had a serious problem on their hands after ratings and stadium attendance plummeted last season.
So the NFL decided before the 2018 season that they would require players to stand for our flag or face punishment.
That’s when the Miami Dolphins issued their own team/franchise policy that would suspend its players for up to four games if they kneeled during the anthem, which is causing outrage amongst players in the league.
The Miami Dolphins issued a new “Proper Anthem Conduct” amendment in their nine-page discipline, according to a leaked report to The Associated Press.
Nothing was out of the ordinary here because each team was asked to submit their own policy to the league’s office.
And that’s when the liberal anti-American backlash began.
The normal players came out of the woodwork to vent about the Dolphins’ owner Stephen Ross’ decision.
Former ESPN analyst Jemele Hill, who became famous for calling President Trump a “white supremacist,” retweeted a New York Daily News post about the Dolphins’ decision, saying, “New level of stupidity.”
Hill speaks for most people at ESPN because she’s the queen bee – despite her career floundering lately – and all of her liberal colleagues go to the mattresses for her on a regular basis.
There was so much backlash, Ross was forced to issue a statement on Friday afternoon making it clear that the leaked document to the Associated Press on Thursday did not reflect how he truly felt on the issue.
The statement read, “The one line sentence related to the national anthem was a placeholder as we haven’t made a decision on what we would do, if anything, at this point.”
Doesn’t that seem like an odd and weak backpedal?
Ross’ statement continued, “I’m pleased that the NFL and NFLPA are taking a pause to figure out a resolution on this issue. I am passionate about social justice, and through the Miami Dolphins and creation of RISE, will continue to use the unifying power of sports to improve race relations and drive social progress.”
The only way to figure out a “resolution” is to ban players from kneeling during the national anthem. Period.
Forget a four game suspension, they should be fired for committing such an anti-American offense.
But that will never happen because irate liberals would never allow it to.
What do you think the consequences should be for a kneeling player?
