The 2020 NFL season was a huge mess.
COVID restrictions nearly derailed the campaign, and the league is hoping for a bounce-back year.
But one NFL coach made a stunning admission that launched an investigation.
The COVID-19 vaccine was supposed to return the country to normalcy.
Instead, vaccine mania has reached a fever pitch, and officials have somehow gotten more heavy-handed.
Democrats and public health officials want to make life as miserable as possible for the unvaccinated, and that extends to professional sports.
Players who haven’t gotten the vaccine have to test every day and sit apart from their teammates.
That’s why first-year Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer said that vaccination status played a role in the team trimming the active roster down to 53 players.
“’Everyone was considered…That was part of the production and also, was he vaccinated or not. To say that was a decision-maker, it certainly was under consideration.”
The rules are so haywire, even vaccinated players have to sit out under certain circumstances.
The NFL Players’ Association, which cut a bad deal with the league, launched an investigation based on Meyer’s words.
From CBS Sports:
“[T]he NFL Players Association has opened an investigation into the situation…The NFLPA hasn’t commented on Meyer’s remarks other than to say the coach’s statements directly led to their next steps. The NFL, meanwhile, does not mandate players be vaccinated for COVID-19 but has implemented stricter protocols for players and staff who are unvaccinated entering the 2021 season. According to ProFootballTalk, the league’s current rules prohibit teams from using vaccination status to inform employment decisions.”
Meyer’s confession is just the latest illustration of how a two-tiered society is being formed around COVID-19.
If Democrats had their druthers, unvaccinated Americans would be unpersoned altogether.
The Jaguars clarified their position on vaccines to alleviate some of the pressure they were feeling.
The team said in a statement:
“Availability is one of the many factors taken into account when making roster decisions. We have vaccinated and unvaccinated players on our roster, and no player was released because of their vaccination status. Ultimately, decisions are based on a player’s ability to help the Jaguars win. We educate our players and respect personal decisions as it pertains to the vaccine. We want to keep our players, staff and families safe as we comply with protocols related to both health and safety and competition on game days.”
Basically the Jaguars attempted to cover their hides in order to avoid penalties from the league.
But the penalties are exactly what the COVID tyrants want.
The people who have become rabid about the vaccine are suddenly the biggest shills for Big Pharma.
As more science emerges about COVID and the vaccines, the less sense the draconian rules make.
The 2020 season was marred with asymptomatic players being forced to sit out games and constant schedule-shuffling.
The NFL can’t afford to have a repeat of last year.
