NFL anti-American anthem protesters divided the country with their disrespectful displays.
President Trump called out the divisive acts and promoted patriotism.
But now anthem protesters are pushing back against Trump in a different way.
Perpetual Protest
In 2016, free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick began the anthem protests.
The NFL still hasn’t recovered.
Disgusted fans didn’t show up to the stadiums.
Television ratings dropped.
Advertising revenue shrank.
Yet commissioner Roger Goodell did nothing for two years.
He finally instituted a new policy that required players to stand for the anthem, or remain in the locker room.
But Goodell quickly caved.
The league still has no policy in place.
Players continue to kneel for the Star-Spangled Banner, though not as many.
But the damage has been done.
Nobody knows if the NFL will be able to reclaim the fans that turned away from the league.
Donald Trump spoke for the majority of Americans who disliked the protests.
And of course that made him a target of the protesting players and their allies in the media.
The Midterms
Trump reached out to the NFL Players’ Coalition over their grievances.
He asked them for pardon recommendations.
But the players essentially rejected his offer.
Now they’re looking to oppose him at the ballot box.
Per USA Today:
“For the past few weeks, members of the Players Coalition have been participating in voter registration drives and doing PSAs to encourage people to vote.”
One of their main goals is a ballot initiative in Florida allowing for convicted felons to vote.
Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins, the leader of the Players’ Coalition, talked about their push for political action:
Jenkins said, “If we don’t give the public a way to get involved other than point out the problems, we’re not having the greatest impact that we can. The biggest impact we all have is our vote.”
Jenkins’s statement is the problem with the left.
They believe everything is political.
Only progress can be made by electing saintly politicians.
What Jenkins and leftists fail to realize is that government is often the road block.
That’s why conservatives believe in limited government.
Under Trump, minority unemployment has reached historic lows, and minority-owned businesses are thriving.
But leftists are more concerned with giving felons voting rights instead of pushing values that make people successful.
Healing America
Donald Trump surprised everyone in 2016.
He wasn’t supposed to win.
And leftists are doing everything in their power to overturn the will of the people.
The media divided the country in awful ways with their dishonest coverage of Trump.
Even people on the left are split.
Jenkins and fellow anthem protester Eric Reid are at each other’s throats.
Reid believed Jenkins wasn’t radical enough in his protesting stance.
Jenkins and Reid almost fought on the field before their game.
But the media’s tactics aren’t working.
Trump’s approval rating is on the rise.
And the blue wave Democrats hoped that would not happen.
If the Democrats don’t take back the House, their plans of impeaching Trump die.
So the media is ratcheting up the attacks on Trump.
They’re even trying to blame Trump for the evil shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.
People are starting to wake up to the media’s games.
Democrats feel their power slipping away, and they don’t like it.
