Taylor Swift is one of the most famous musicians in the world.
One thing that many of her fans loved about her is that Swift refused to talk about politics.
And after she endorsed a Tennessee Democrat to the Senate, this new poll proved it was a really bad idea.
Taylor Swift it was one of the most celebrated pop stars in the world.
The ten-time Grammy Award winner shocked everyone when Swift decided to announce her support for Democrat Phil Bredesen over Republican Marsha Blackburn on social media.

That’s the Tennessee race and also Swift’s home state.
At first, it looked like there was a surge in voter registration because of her Instagram post.
But it turns out that nobody really cared about Swift’s opinion.
A new poll by from Cygnal found that 86-percent of voters didn’t care about Swift’s endorsement.
Also, 82-percent were well aware of what she did.
Vice President of Research & Analytics, Matt Hubbard, said, “Millennial and Gen Z voters are highly aware of the endorsement of the Democrat, but it did little to move their vote preference. Swift’s endorsement is providing a boost to get-out-the-vote efforts, but we’re seeing minimal impact on the race.”
Most of her fans were furious after her decade-long vow to not discuss politics.
One Twitter follower named “Janice” said, “be quiet and sing!”
Another one of her followers summed up Blackburn well when she said, “Marsha Blackburn believes principles that have blessed this country for over 200 years. She believes in principles given to us by God. You now align yourself with Hollywood which is a cauldron of godlessness. I once liked and respected you so much.”
Her fans are not happy.
It’s understandable when you consider that Hollywood does this all the time.
It’s important to note that Swift has 112 million Instagram followers.
You can bet that many of them, especially those in Tennessee, are President Trump-supporting Republicans.
Swift made a huge mistake.
Cygnal President and founder, Brent Buchanan, said that Swift’s latest endorsement, “may lead to ‘Bad Blood’ with her conservative fans.”
Also, it turns out that Blackburn is ahead by almost six percent in the overall state polls according to Real Clear Politics.

Even Blackburn acknowledged that Swift’s endorsement was rather pointless.
Blackburn said, “Tennesseans are more interested in the fact that Marsha Blackburn is endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, by the Fraternal Order of Police, by the Police Benevolent Association and by the National Rifle Association, where I have an ‘A’ rating and their endorsement.”
Tennessee registrations did surge after her post.
Within 24 hours, registrations went up to 65,000.
A New York Times poll showed that Blackburn is ahead of Bredesen by 14 points.
Blackburn is incredibly popular in Tennessee.
In 2016, Blackburn won her House re-election race with more than 72-percent of the vote.
Now, Blackburn and Bredesen are looking to take over Republican Sen. Bob Corker’s seat.
Corker announced that he is retiring from office.
President Trump also seemed ashamed of Swift’s mistake to attack Blackburn.
It was clearly a joke.
Swift’s endorsement doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Now the country music star has to carry this around with her forever and even alienated a lot of her fan base.
It was an odd move.
Regardless, she’s made enough money that maybe Swift figured that she could afford to finally speak up about her politics.
