Netflix’s meteoric rise has been unprecedented.
The streaming giant became the biggest media company in the world – passing even Disney for a brief moment last week.
But Netflix just told a bold-faced lie about their newest partnership with the Obamas.
Netflix shocked many when they announced that Barack and Michelle Obama would become their latest production partners. Apparently the Obamas are Hollywood producers now, which isn’t really surprising considering Hollywood is the hub for liberal propaganda.
The Obamas signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to produce series and films under their company “Higher Ground Productions,” which will include scripted and unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features.
Barack Obama said about the partnership:
“That’s why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix — we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world.”
Obama also stated that their projects will help “train the next generation of leaders.”
Sounds like these projects are going to get political.
But Netflix President Ted Sarandos attempted to nip that impression in the bud, saying,
“This is not The Obama Network,” and insisted their projects would not have a “political slant to the programming.”
Obviously he’s lying.
Most of their projects will deal with topics like immigration and climate change, all political talking points used by the far-left.
Clearly the Obamas intend to use Netflix as a vehicle to indoctrinate the next generation of leaders—and not just in America.
Netflix has a stranglehold on worldwide distribution, which means the Obamas’ liberal propaganda will reach audiences all over the globe.
But why didn’t Sarandos just admit so?
It’s simple. Netflix doesn’t want to be viewed as a liberal institution—not yet anyways.
Considering there are no deals being made for conservative content or filmmakers, Netflix figured it could potentially sink their stock if this new deal with the Obama’s sounded too obvious.
After all, as seen in recent months with Roseanne’s success (although the show has unfortunately now been cancelled), the new NFL policy requiring players to stand for the anthem when on the field, and the soon return of Last Man Standing, there’s an enormous faction in this country who are sick of the far-left’s liberal rhetoric and grandstanding.
Netflix knows there would be backlash if they announced they were endorsing liberal globalist ideologies right out the gate.
