The NBA season is sputtering along.
The league has had to deal with star players in and out of the lineup all season.
And one NBA star attended an event that exposed Joe Biden’s idiotic mandate.
Joe Biden attempted to strongarm every big business in the United States into forcing employees to get the COVID vaccine.
The Supreme Court struck down his unconstitutional mandate, but many corporations and local jurisdictions have kept the ridiculous policy in place.
One of them is New York City, where Brooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving is prohibited from participating in home games because he is unvaccinated.
But Irving was able to attend a Knicks-Nets game at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn’s home arena.

Irving’s appearance highlighted the illogical COVID restrictions that remain in place.
From The New York Post:
“Kyrie Irving may have finally made his Barclays Center season debut Sunday, but playing a home game is still going to have to wait. New York City’s indoor vaccine mandates may have loosened enough to allow the unvaccinated Irving in the building, but the private-sector mandates still keep him from suiting up. Eligible for just four more road games this season, he was reduced to a spectator watching his teammates beat the Knicks 110-107. The fact it came just a couple hours after Mayor Eric Adams urged Irving to get vaccinated just made the whole scene Kafka-esque.”
So Irving can be in the stadium, but not as a player.
Teammate Kevin Durant commented on the absurdity of the situation, saying, “Yeah, I don’t get it…But at this point now, it feels like somebody’s trying to make a statement or a point to flex their authority. But everybody out here is looking for attention, and that’s what I feel the mayor wants right now is some attention. He’ll figure it out soon. He better.”
Mayor Eric Adams has given mixed signals on COVID policy, as has NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
Irving and several other players have been forced to miss significant time due to protocols that didn’t contribute to public safety.
“[I]t just didn’t make any sense. It’s unvaxxed people in this building already. We’ve got a guy who can come into the building, I guess are they fearing our safety? I don’t get it. We’re all confused. Everybody in the world is confused at this point. Earlier on in the season, people didn’t understand what’s going on, but now it just looks stupid. So hopefully, Eric, you’ve gotta figure this out.”
Durant is entirely correct.
Nothing about the COVID policies make sense, which is why even many blue-states have already scrapped the pandemic restrictions.
But New York City is still lagging behind.
