Americans are growing sick and tired of the COVID regime.
That includes professional athletes who have been told to follow nonsensical guidelines.
And one NBA player who challenged Joe Biden’s mandate just scored a big victory.
Joe Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate was struck down by the Supreme Court, but many corporations and local governments are still pursuing the policy.
The illogic of the vaccine mandate is most glaring in the NBA where the rules vary from one city to the next.
Brooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving made waves when he refused to get the COVID vaccine.
New York City has a vaccine mandate in place, so the Nets shut down Irving indefinitely.
However, as the Nets’ season went south, the team decided to allow Irving to play in road games where other cities do not have the same draconian vaccine mandates in place.
Now newly elected mayor Eric Adams and NBA commissioner Adam Silver are pointing out the absurdity of the vaccine mandate.
Adams said of the mandate:
“The rule is unfair. We are saying to out-of-town athletes that they can come in and not be vaccinated. Yet New York athletes, you have to be vaccinated…I think it’s unfair.”
That’s a clear sign that the COVID regime is cracking.
More and more people are beginning to call out the absurdity, including Democrats and “approved” public health officials.
However, Adams did not go so far as to say he would lift the mandate.
He added:
“I am really, really leery about sending the wrong message. Having this city close down again keeps me up at night, and the message was put in place, the rule was put in place, to start changing it now I think it would send mixed messages…I’m struggling with this, just to be honest with you.”
Adams is struggling with the data and common sense.
There is no reason for a vaccine mandate to be in place.
The best available data show that both the vaccinated and unvaccinated can catch and spread COVID, which undercuts the false narrative that the unvaccinated are killing everybody.
And with the milder and more transmissible Omicron variant running rampant throughout the population, the vaccine protocols make even less sense.
Commissioner Silver added that it “doesn’t quite make sense” for visiting players not to have to go through New York’s stringent COVID procedures.
Silver clearly wants to put the nonsense behind him, but doesn’t know how to do it without drawing the ire of the COVID regime.
Silver said:
“In terms of New York City, I’m not sure what will happen specifically there, but as I’m watching what’s happening around the country, many of these restrictions are being lifted.”
The NBA has had an up-and-down season due to so many players, many asymptomatic and vaccinated, being put into the league’s COVID protocols and being forced to miss two weeks.
Biden and tyrannical public health officials cannot keep the charade going forever.
