Sports personalities are being expected to talk about politics.
They have particularly been used by politicians to rail against gun rights.
And an NBC coach joined Joe Biden for one terrible gun-grabbing event.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris promised to be the most anti-gun administration in history, and they are attempting to live up to that.
Biden roped in the Golden State Warriors for a photo op regarding his gun control initiative.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is a notorious gun-grabber who has gone on several screeds calling for politicians to “do something.”
From Deadline:
“Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and NBA star Stephen Curry were the latest entertainment and sports celebrities to make an appearance at the White House daily briefing, this time to give brief remarks on gun violence prevention…The team was visiting the White House on Tuesday for a celebration of their 2022 NBA championship. Kerr said that he also took part in a roundtable on gun violence and gun safety with senior White House staffers and Klay Thompson and Moses Moody.”
In regard to the meeting, Kerr said, “We learned a lot about what this administration is doing to help create a safer environment in our country. That is something that is very close to my heart.”
Democrats never have any workable solutions; they just propose the same feckless gun control laws over and over again.
Deadline continued:
“Kerr and Curry are only the latest celebrities that the Biden White House has invited to make remarks at a briefing. Cyndi Lauper spoke in advance of a signing ceremony for the Respect for Marriage Act, Matthew McConaughey urged lawmakers to pass gun safety measures and BTS appeared to talk about a rise in anti-Asian hate crimes.”
Biden has pledged to ban “assault rifles” even though the overwhelming majority of gun homicides are committed with illegally obtained handguns.
Biden boasted, “I’ll say what I said then, and I’ll say it over and over again: I am going to get assault weapons banned. I did it once, and I’m going to do it again…There’s no need for any of that. I love my right-wing friends that talk about ‘the tree of liberty is watered with the blood of patriots’…[T]aking on the federal government, you need some F-15s. You don’t need an AR-15.”
Threatening people in an attempt to persuade them to give up their guns is a terrible strategy.
Kerr recently blamed Republicans after the horrific mass shootings in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde, Texas, which is standard operating procedure for Democrats.
Kerr said, “There are 50 senators right now who refuse to vote on HR8, which is a background check rule that the House passed a couple of years ago. It has been sitting there for two years and there was a reason why they won’t vote on it. To hold on to the power…So I ask you, Mitch McConnell, I ask all of you senators who refuse to do anything about the violence in school shootings and supermarket shootings, I ask you: are you going to put your own desire for power ahead of the lives of our children and our elderly and our churchgoers, because that’s what it looks like.”
The Democrats have no shame in using celebrity props to push their agenda.
