Don Lemon is on thin ice.
CNN is chomping at the bit to fire him.
And Megyn Kelly was horrified by the shocking thing Lemon was accused of.
Don Lemon’s slow-motion demise at CNN continues apace.
Not only was Lemon demoted from primetime, but he was pulled off his failing morning show after his brain-dead remarks about women over 50 being “past their prime.”
And the knives are still out for Lemon.
Variety ran a hit piece on Lemon that chronicled his long – and allegedly abrasive – history with female co-anchors, particularly former CNN host Kyra Phillips.
Variety reported that “[w]hile Phillips was on assignment in Iraq — a high-profile gig that Lemon coveted — he vented his disappointment at being passed over by tearing up pictures and notes on top of and inside Phillips’ desk in the news pod they shared, according to two sources who worked there at the time.”
Phillips also received a threatening text from an unknown number that said, “Now you’ve crossed the line, and you’re going to pay for it.”
The texts were purportedly traced back to Lemon.
This is nightmarish stalker behavior that would’ve gotten most people fired, but perhaps CNN has been hesitant to give Lemon the ax because he’s black and gay.
However, Megyn Kelly, no stranger to workplace harassment, did not pull any punches on Lemon.
Kelly argued how preposterous it was that, according to CNN, the company does not have any HR records pertaining to Lemon and Phillips.
“[If]you can’t find any records on this, then let’s figure out whether Kyra Phillips has an NDA. Because she must not have one, right? You can’t find the records. Let her speak. CNN, will you go on the record right now and say, ‘Kyra Phillips, if you signed an NDA in connection with this incident, you may speak publicly about it because we have no information suggesting that it happened or that you were gagged.’ I don’t know what the truth is there, but I’d love to find out. Let’s see if they do that.”
After Lemon’s “past her prime” debacle, old footage of the news anchor resurfaced where Lemon goes on a rant targeting the black community, which has since further alienated him from the left-wing base.
“Pull up your pants…Walking around with your a** and your underwear showing is not okay. In fact, it comes from prison when they take the belt away from the prisoner so that they can’t make a weapon. And then it evolved into which role a prisoner would have during male-on-male prison sex. The one with the really low pants is a submissive one. You get my point,” Lemon says.
Lemon is bad at his job, has poor ratings, and he’s an HR nightmare.
But if the higher-ups at CNN are eager to get rid of Lemon, and it appears they are, it wouldn’t be surprising if that HR file suddenly leaked.
It’s only a matter of time at this point.
