“Full House” star Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, got caught up in a nationwide cheating scandal last month when the FBI charged them with Mail Fraud.
Loughlin and Giannulli allegedly donated $500,000 to the University of Southern California’s Crew even though neither one of their daughters are actually on the team.
But in the midst of dozens of parents pleading guilty, Loughlin called federal prosecutors’ bluff and it backfired completely.
Hollywood celebrities hate it when they’re called elitists because they refuse to believe that they live in a privileged bubble that the rest of Middle America doesn’t live in.
They pretend to be just like you. Empathize with you. But at the end of the day, they go back to their gigantic mansions in the Hollywood Hills, Brentwood, Malibu or Beverly Hills and sleep soundly in their $10,000 sheets.
Now you might be thinking to yourself that Loughlin couldn’t be that rich. “Full House” was decades ago and she couldn’t be making that much off of “Fuller House” or Hallmark movies before the scandal broke.
You’d be right about that because her wealth is largely because of her husband Mossimo Giannulli. Have you ever bought clothes from Target? If you have then there’s probably a good chance that it was “Mossimo.” Yes, he was a clothing designer, although, Target doesn’t carry his clothes anymore.
Together they are wealthy. And what do wealthy people do? They cheat the system to carve out the easiest path for them and their families. They conned the system to get their two daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose, into the prestigious University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.
The FBI charged them both with Mail Fraud.
And a report claims that Loughlin was “in complete denial” about being charged with a crime. Loughlin genuinely believes she’s not guilty of a crime.
A source told E!, “She has been in complete denial and thought maybe she could skate by. She refused to accept any jail time and thought the DA was bluffing. She was adamant she wouldn’t do any jail time. Lori is finally realizing just how serious this is. She is seeing the light that she will do jail time and is freaking out.”
However, the prosecutors aren’t playing games. After rejecting the plea deal offered by the prosecutors’ office, they slammed them with even more charges, which are for the moment undisclosed. Many experts believe she could serve up to two years in prison.
The same source said about their daughter Olivia, “Olivia is focusing all her time on hanging with her friends, a lot of whom are social media influencers and Internet stars, and she’s been filming some content with them. She’s trying to live her life normally again.”
Olivia has been dropped from several endorsement deals following the scandal and even admitted on an Instagram post that she just wanted to experience the college lifestyle, ie partying, instead of going to classes and getting an education. That doesn’t interest her.
That denial and undeniable pride will likely cost her time in prison.
