“Wokeness” is a poison that’s spreading throughout society.
Every institution is at risk of being overtaken by it.
Now liberals are calling the Olympics racist for one jaw-dropping reason.
The neo-Marxist ideology of critical race theory has seeped into countless pockets of culture.
One of the practices of CRT is to look at any disparities between racial groups, and chalk it up to unjust discrimination.
However, disparities aren’t even necessary anymore.
Now anytime something bad happens to a nonwhite person, leftists are champing at the bit to blame racism.
The latest example is U.S. women’s sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, who won’t be allowed to compete in the Olympics after testing positive for marijuana.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other braindead leftists were quick to call her suspension racist.
Self-described socialist actor Seth Rogen spread the same message to his millions of followers.
The notion that weed is a problematic “drug” is rooted in racism. It’s insane that Team USA would disqualify one of this country’s most talented athletes over thinking that’s rooted in hatred. It’s something they should be ashamed of. Also if weed made you fast, I’d be FloJo. https://t.co/swDLNoVcV3

First, Team USA did not suspend Richardson; an international body suspended her.
And the Olympics are taking place in Tokyo, Japan, not the United States.
Also, other cultures around the world have harsher punishments for drugs than the United States.
For example, in 2018, Singapore executed 11 people for drug trafficking (and only two for murder).
Richardson isn’t the first American athlete to be suspended for marijuana.
From The Baltimore Sun:
“The World Anti-Doping Agency processed 130 athletes who tested positive for marijuana in 2019, the last full year of competition. So far as I can tell, Black people were not disproportionately disciplined for it. The most famous pot penalty was incurred in 2009 by swim champion and Baltimore native Michael Phelps, who is white. He was suspended from competition for three months — as opposed to Ms. Richardson’s 30-day ban — after news photos surfaced of him smoking weed from a bong.”
Turning Richardson’s suspension into a racial issue only further poisons a divided culture.
More from The Sun:
“We also do a disservice to Ms. Richardson, who has drawn support across the political spectrum. Denouncing her suspension, Florida GOP representative Matt Gaetz noted that marijuana was ‘legal in most states’ and didn’t ‘impact performance.’ Even Donald Trump Jr. got in on the act, urging the Olympics to let Ms. Richardson compete. ‘I’m pretty sure weed has never made anyone faster,’ he tweeted.”
The Tokyo Games were almost canceled entirely due to COVID hysteria, so the last thing needed is a nonsense controversy about racism.
Richardson knowingly broke the rules, and she got caught.
Whether or not the rule should be on the books is a separate conversation, and one that doesn’t need to be subverted by fake claims of systemic racism.
