Joe Biden and the Democrats are dragging the country to the far left.
But some prominent people on the left are not along for the ride.
And a liberal comic ripped the Democrats for making one giant mistake.
Old-school liberal Bill Maher has been routinely attacked by the left these days for calling out the insanity on his side of the aisle.
Maher has consistently gone after the left for COVID hysteria; on several occasions, he pointed out that Democrats are far less educated on the actual dangers of the virus.
Now Maher is ripping California for being a broken nanny state.
During a podcast interview with fellow comedian Adam Carolla, Maher took aim at the nonsensical regulations in the state.
Maher said that “we know there’s been an exodus from this state. That’s partly because of high taxes, and it’s partly because fire season is all year round. It’s also because people can’t f*cking do anything.”
Maher referenced the insane regulatory environment that exists.
The comedian detailed his never-ending quest to install solar panels at his house.
He detailed the “Orwellian” and “Kafkaesque” process that took 1,131 days for the panels to get installed.
Maher said:
“I have a picture of eleven people at my house that finally showed. Eleven people. To turn on a lightbulb, basically, I had to build a shed to house the thing. I had to build its own home. Which could probably house the homeless, people could probably live in that shed…The hoops you had to jump through to do something that the state was advising you to do. Solar power was something I thought I was being a good citizen trying to hook up.”
On top of the installation circus, the state is milking solar customers for more money.
Tesla Energy, a company that installs and maintains solar panels, spoke out against added fees imposed by the state:
“Bowing to pressure from the California utilities, the CPUC (California Public Utilities Commission) is proposing new net metering rules (NEM 3.0) that includes a ‘grid access’ fee of $8/kW of installed solar per month – in addition to other fees – that could add between $50-$80/month to the electric bill of a home solar customer. If adopted, this would be the highest solar fee anywhere in the country, including states hostile to renewable energy. In addition, the proposal would reduce the value of bill credits for solar energy sent to the grid by about 80 percent.”
California is also banning gas-powered leaf blowers, generators, and lawnmowers.
The “green” takeover is insane in the state.
Maher also bashed the high-speed rail boondoggle and warned that people fed up with the Democrats could leave the party.
Maher said, “Eventually what they are going to say is ‘then f*ck it to the Democratic party.’ This is an achilles heel to this party that they have to come to terms with…There are just too many people with their hand out. There are too many people who are unnecessary in this equation. This is kind of beyond politics and it will get hung on, deservedly so, the Democrats.”
If a dyed-in-the-wool liberal like Maher is venting on these issues, moderate Democrats have to be ready to explode.
