Democrat politicians are ruining major cities across the country.
Even people on the left are beginning to take notice.
Now a liberal comic and one NBA owner absolutely eviscerated this governor.
Comedian Bill Maher is one of the few prominent voices on the left who’s willing to call out Democratic insanity.
When he’s not having a fit of Trump Derangement Syndrome, Maher is complaining about the left’s descent into “woke” madness.
Maher recently had Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on his “Club Random” podcast, and the two openly mocked wokeness.
Maher asked, “So are your kids insufferably woke?”
Cuban replied, “No. F*ck no.”
The owner has liberal sensibilities, but certainly has a libertarian streak.
The two then shifted to ripping California politics.
Maher said, “I feel like there is a parallel with that and the feeling of being over regulated as a citizen, which we know in California…I’m all for intelligent, liberal moves, but this state is nuts.”
Cuban agreed, responding, “Yeah, they do go a little bit overboard. I could not live here as a permanent resident just because the taxes and the regulation.”
Maher replied, “And those are the reasons, taxes and regulations?”
Cuban elaborated, “That’s a big part of it. Just because, look at what’s happening in San Francisco. An entire industry is getting pushed out. The whole technology industry went from, okay, this is the new thing and now, it’s just about people sh*tting on the street.”
Maher joked, “I was going to say, the cleaning-up-the-sh*t-off-the-street industry is doing very well.”
“Really well,” Cuban added. “You know the apps that say where you can go take a sh*t?”
Cuban was referring to an app that alerts San Francisco residents where there’s human feces on the street.
That’s how out-of-hand the problem has become.
From The Daily Caller:
“Between 2011 and 2019 there were approximately 118,300 reported instances of human fecal matter spotted on San Francisco streets. More than 70% of the reported cases occurred in 10 neighborhoods. The city has paid upwards of $54 million to clean up the streets for residents.”
That is a consequence of Democrat politicians doing nothing to solve the homelessness problem.
Democrats believe that homelessness is a housing issue when it’s really a mental health and substance abuse problem.
In a previous episode of the podcast with libertarian commentator Dave Rubin, Maher laid out the conditions for him leaving California.
Maher explained, “Now you’ve hit on the one raw nerve with me on this issue that could make me go to Florida or anywhere else. And that’s COVID and their overreaction in my view and their limited ability to understand that—please, look, I want to be a team player, but you can’t get inside my body. That has to be my decision.”
The COVID regime went way overboard in California, and there’s even talk of tightening up restrictions nearly three years into the pandemic.
Maher is getting fed up, and he speaks for a lot of other liberals in the state.
There’s a reason why so many people are fleeing California.
