Leftist are ganging up to take shots at Elon Musk.
They are enraged that he took control of their favorite plaything.
Now liberal comedian Jon Stewart flung one insane accusation at Musk.
The knives are out for Elon Musk because of his purchase of Twitter.
Leftists figured they would be able to control the platform forever and use it to set public discourse.
Musk said he simply wanted Twitter to be a free speech platform, and the left went berserk.
Now liberal comedian and political commentator Jon Stewart is taking shots at Musk.
During a conversation with two staffers for his Apple+ show The Problem with Jon Stewart, the host ripped Musk for overstating the importance of purchasing Twitter.
Stewart said, “It’s the most manipulative, bizarre framing of this like…It just so happens that Western civilization depends on — this is a coincidence — the app he bought…I have a feeling if he had bought Angry Birds, he’d have been like, ‘If there’s any taking down of the anger of these birds, democracy dies.’”
However, if Stewart has an issue with Musk’s stance, he should take it up with the slew of left-wing journalists that said democracy was in peril because of Musk’s purchase.
For example, left-wing journalist Jeff Jarvis compared the last days of pre-Musk Twitter to the fall of Weimar Germany and the rise of the Nazis.
Other Democrats and leftist reporters made similar statements.
Celebrities and advertisers have left Twitter claiming that Musk is a threat to democracy.
Stewart added, “Everybody keeps saying, you know, he’s for free speech…He’s the last person for free speech. He’s not for free speech. I don’t know what…I don’t know what this is.”
This is ironic coming from Stewart considering he said on the Stephen Colbert show that the coronavirus very likely came from the Wuhan lab.
Stewart said, “Oh my god, there’s a novel respiratory coronavirus overtaking Wuhan, China, what do we do? Oh, you know who we could ask? The Wuhan novel respiratory coronavirus lab. The disease is the same name as the lab. That’s just a little too weird!”
At the time, it was verboten to say such a thing.
In fact, Dan Rather wrote a hit piece aimed at Stewart saying it was “dangerous” that he joked about the Wuhan lab theory.
According to Rather, “Stewart is playing into the trope of the mad scientist at a time when we need science more than ever to solve our more pressing problems — most notably climate change. The idea that science is the biggest threat to the planet is terribly irresponsible. It gives free license to all those who say, ‘forget what we have learned, forget knowledge, forget seeing reality.’ And I fear this reasoning – or should I say ‘unreasoning’ — has not only consumed the modern Republican party but is in danger of consuming an even broader swath of the American and global public.”
Countless people were kicked off of Twitter for suggesting the lab leak theory or expressing COVID “misinformation” that turned out to be correct.
Musk is restoring the accounts of those “heretics,” so his record on free speech is far better than that of the previous regime.
