Leftists are constantly looking for reasons to be offended.
Even the smallest thing can be turned into a major offense.
And a legendary broadcast angered the “woke” mob with one sentence.
The left has gone so insane that speaking logical truth has become dangerous.
For example, saying that only women can get pregnant could lead to career ruination for people in the media.
An acclaimed sports broadcaster Al Michaels caught flak for implying that pop singer Taylor Swift has a fan base that primarily consists of young women and girls.
Apparently making that assumption is very bad.
During the most recent Thursday Night Football game on Amazon Prime, Swift dropped a teaser for last album “Midnights.”
That’s when Michaels said to color commentator Kirk Herbstreit, “You have four sons. If you had a daughter, she’d be over the moon. I have a granddaughter who is completely over the moon right now…Nobody more popular among the teenage girl group than Taylor Swift.”

Michaels awakened the cancel mob from its slumber by stating an obvious fact about Swift’s main demographic.
ESPN correspondent Brooke Pryor responded on Twitter, “All respect to Al Michaels, but dudes can be Taylor Swift fans, too…whew the toxic masculinity is STRONG on here tonight.”
Another user responded, “Al Michaels writing off Taylor Swift as just a girl singer his granddaughters love is both equally embarrassing and condescending. Sir, Taylor Swift could buy you out MANY times over.”
That angry replay doesn’t even address Michaels’s point, which is correct.
Another deranged leftist bluntly replied, “F*ck Al Michaels for thinking men can’t be
Taylor Swift fans.”
David Hookstead from Outkick is actually a fan of Swift, and even he acknowledges her main demographic.
Hookstead wrote, “If you walked into a weight room, while there might be some Swift on the playlist, probably more likely to find young men blasting Future than T-Swift. That’s not a bad thing. It’s just the truth, and I say that as someone who is a huge fan of Swift’s work…Furthermore, ‘Dear John,’ another all-time Swift classic tells the story of a brutal breakup, heartbreak and manipulation at the hands of a guy. Who do we think it’s directed at? Men or young women going through tough times? The answer is obvious and it’s the latter.”
In crazy times like the current moment, speaking truth becomes a revolutionary act.
The political correctness movement of the late eighties/early nineties fizzled out, but it came back with a vengeance in the form of “wokeness.”
This current wave has more lasting power because the culture has been so rotted by the left over the past three decades, but the backlash to wokeness is already beginning.
There’s only so long people will be on board with buying into nonsense that is obviously not true.
