Magnanimous actor and comedian legend Bill Murray is one of the most enigmatic and illusive people in the history of Hollywood.
Sofia Coppola was about to start shooting “Lost in Translation” on location when she had a panic attack because they couldn’t get ahold of Murray the day before principal photography began and they were terrified whether he would show up at all. But he did show up and his performance garnered an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.
And legendary actor and comedian, Bill Murray, just applied for the oddest job you could possibly imagine that will surely put a smile on your face.
One of the greatest stories about the kind of person Bill Murray – one day he was taking a taxi and the cab driver revealed to the Oscar nominee that he was a saxophonist. What did Bill Murray do? He drove the taxi to the destination he needed to go to while the cab driver sat in the back and played for him.
Bill Murray is notorious for this kind of stuff.
There’s a running “Bill Murray Stories” joke where he tells them “No one will believe you,” when he does something so strange that it’s hard to believe.
One time he crashed a bachelor party and gave relationship advice to any and everyone who wanted some. He’s been known to crash a lot of weddings. Honestly, if it were your wedding would you say no?
Murray loves randomly walking into restaurants/bars and casually go behind the bar to pour people drinks as if he owns the place. At a South by Southwest Festival he did this and whenever someone asked for a drink, and it didn’t matter what it was, he would just pour them shots of tequila.
Maybe one of the funniest things he’s ever done is when he showed up to an ice cream social that was randomly named after him in 2014.
Bill Murray is a creature of spontaneity and going wherever the world takes him with such an unapologetic fashion about it.
That was certainly the case when he randomly applied for a P.F. Chang’s position at the Atlanta, Georgia airport. The funniest thing is the 69-year-old actor now has the job… if he wants it, that is.
Murray was on Amy Schumer’s podcast “3 Girls 1 Keith,” where he revealed, “I did fill out an application at P.F. Chang’s at the Atlanta airport, because I think that’s one of the great places.”
She asked, “To do what? Just any job?” Schumer asked, to which Murray replied, “It looks like the best time.”
Upon P.F. Chang’s hearing about this they tweeted:
Bill, you’re hired! When can you start? #billmurray https://t.co/1VOAbguvsO

He’s got the job if he wants it and when he actually shows up spontaneously like he did for “Lost in Translation” then nobody should be truly surprised.
Murray also has an affinity for the show “Family Feud” apparently.
On the same podcast he said about his favorite show, “I’m going to give you my little secret — I record it. I can come home and I have recorded 61 episodes of ‘Family Feud,’ because it’s on all day long. It’s on all day long and by law it has to be on all day long. But then, what I do is I take the time to fast forward in each episode all the way to Fast Money. Cause that to me is the excitement part of the show. I skip the early rounds because I don’t always respect their tactics.”
Murray is such an odd duck but that’s what we all love about him, right?
