The #MeToo movement has destroyed the careers of several Hollywood titans.
Arguably the most notable perpetrator is famed actor Kevin Spacey.
But Spacey’s troubles could’ve just gotten worse because of one video.
Kevin Spacey built a career as one of the most respected actors in Hollywood.
He starred in classic films like American Beauty, L.A. Confidential, and The Usual Suspects.
One of his most memorable roles — and likely his last one — was as Frank Underwood, the Machiavellian politician with a southern drawl, on the Netflix series House of Cards.
Spacey was riding high until mega-producer Harvey Weinstein was exposed as a serial harasser and alleged rapist.
Weinstein’s downfall started a cascade of powerful men in the industry being accused of sexual predation.
This coincided with the left’s sudden moral re-evaluation of Spacey’s good friend Bill Clinton.
Clinton’s peccadilloes are obvious and well-chronicled, including his multiple excursions on the tawdry Lolita Express.
But Spacey’s misdeeds were more of a Hollywood rumor bubbling beneath the surface.
After actor Anthony Rapp accused Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct when he was only 14 years old, Spacey’s world imploded.
He was fired from House of Cards and he was completely edited out of the Ridley Scott film All the Money in the World.
Not only was Spacey’s career ruined, but he also faces multiple charges of sexual misconduct against boys and young men.
Spacey found himself in exile.
Then he made one of the most bizarre moves ever.
Spacey released a short video on his Twitter page where he seemingly appeared in character as Frank Underwood and offered a chilling and cryptic message:
Many speculated it was a desperate attempt to regain general acceptance and begin working again.
Others posited it was a veiled threat to the power brokers in entertainment to let him back in to ensure he keeps their confidence.
Whatever the video was or wasn’t, it didn’t give Spacey a get-out-of-jail-free card.
The same day the video dropped, Spacey was charged with sexual assault.
And it gets worse for the actor.
Authorities allegedly have video evidence that proves Spacey committed sexual assault.
According to court documents, the accuser claims Spacey began groping him after several drinks.
The accuser supposedly has a Snapchat video of the incident.
The alleged assault lines up with other accusations against Spacey, including claims made by the Prince of Norway, who said Spacey groped him under the table at an event.
Spacey tried to exempt himself from his court appearance in Massachusetts for sexual assault, but the judge ruled against him.
Spacey will have to return to the public in order to face the charges, which will only pique people’s interest in the insane video he released as Frank Underwood.
Spacey is a wounded and cornered animal.
There’s no telling what he could do.
Some speculate Harvey Weinstein could take a scorched-earth approach and expose all of the dirt he has on Hollywood insiders if he goes down.
Spacey has been just as deep inside the inner sanctum, so there’s no telling would dark secrets he could bring to light.
