The November General Election is nearing, and President Trump has already put out vibes suggesting it might be another repeat of 2016.
You remember what happened. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton had a comfortable lead in nearly every scientific poll, in some cases by double digits, but still lost because the silent majority came out in full force to make sure we didn’t get Barack Obama 2.0.
But one of Trump’s biggest celebrity allies just turned on him and the reasoning is ridiculous.
Incumbent President Trump will face off against former Vice President Joe Biden in November so long as there isn’t some dramatic shakeup in the Democratic Party and a nominee emerges out of nowhere. But for all intents and purposes, that probably won’t happen.
However, as of right now, there may be a candidate running for a third party on the presidential ticket.
And that person is none other than rap superstar Kanye West.
West, who has been an unapologetic diehard supporter of President Trump’s, has announced he will be running against both Biden and Trump in November. Although, West still hasn’t filled out the necessary paperwork to run just yet.
Nevertheless, West has apparently lost confidence in President Trump despite his recent unwavering support for him just a few short months ago. And the biggest reason he gave for it was the grossly-taken-out-of-context incident that alleges Trump moved to an underground bunker during the Black Lives Matter protests outside the White House in May.
To be clear, President Trump still maintains that Secret Service agents moved the president to that bunker. In fact, Trump said he wanted to see it, in case the protesting outside the White House were to escalate to full-scale rioting.
Nevertheless, West spoke with Forbes about his intentions of running and was asked why he lost his confidence in Trump.
West said, “It looks like one big mess to me. I don’t like that I caught wind that he hid in the bunker.”
The “Jesus Walks” rapper clearly doesn’t understand how the relationship between the President of the United States and the Secret Service. The Secret Service pulls rank on the POTUS if they feel his life is in danger. West’s accusation is ridiculous and this notion that Trump is somehow weak for visiting the bunker is absurd because he has no choice in the matter. That’s how it has worked since the founding of the Secret Service.
West is also changing his tone completely about his previous support of President Trump saying, “I’m speaking with experts, I’m going to speak with Jared Kushner, the White House, with Biden. We’ve been talking about this for years. One of the main reasons I wore the red hat as a protest to the segregation of votes in the Black community. Also, other than the fact that I like Trump hotels and the saxophones in the lobby.”
That’s a stark contrast from singing his praises just a few short months ago.
But the Grammy Award-winning musician is especially no fan of former Vice President Joe Biden either, adding that he’s “not special.”
West said, “I’m not saying Trump’s in my way, he may be a part of my way. And Joe Biden? Like come on man, please. You know? Obama’s special. Trump’s special. We say Kanye West is special. America needs special people that lead. Bill Clinton? Special. Joe Biden’s not special.”
He’s right about Biden, but West seems overly confused about too many other things. West is also a diagnosed bipolar and takes medication for it. People close to West said his recent announcement to run for president and the ensuing interviews were a direct result of an “episode” for not taking his medication.
West should be helping Trump win and not spreading asinine reasons why he’s allegedly disillusioned with him. West needs medical help.
