Thankfully we haven’t heard much from disgraced former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick recently with sports on hiatus even with the industry’s journalists are starved for content.
Granted, these are tough times, and lives are being upended right now but at least Kaepernick isn’t offering his two cents on the situation, right?
Unfortunately, all of that changed last week when Kaepernick chimed in on America’s current crisis and when you read what he said your jaw will drop.
The man somehow consistently inserts himself into the national conversation constantly. Maybe it’s the liberal media wanting it that way or maybe it’s his team masterfully manipulating journalists, but either way it’s growing tiresome.
They’re like two individual beasts feeding off each other. It’s almost as if Kaepernick says outlandish things to finance the media more clicks while most of the sports media mutually agrees to paint him as the second coming of Martin Luther King Jr. Would you really be surprised if it didn’t work exactly like that?
Furthermore, there was a recent report that shed light on how the African American community has been disproportionately affected by the new virus than any other race.
In fact, on Friday the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new nationwide data revealing that 30-percent of Covid-19 patients are African Americans even though they make up only about 14-percent of the population in the United States.
There’s no data suggesting why African Americans are more susceptible to the virus, but one obvious theory involves genetics. There are plenty of viruses, diseases, and pre-existing conditions that are more common in African Americans than other races and vice versa.
But Kaepernick thinks it’s due to “structural racism,” which is why he started the “Know Your Rights Camp Covid-19 Relief Fund.”
He wrote on Twitter, “Structural racism makes Black & Brown ppl more likely to die from #COVID19. We’ve launched the Know Your Rights Camp COVID-19 Relief Fund to directly impact the disproportionate effect #coronavirus is having on our communities.”
Structural racism is essentially a societal divide between two races where one ethnic group is perceived to have more advantages than the other, and over time creates intense disparities amongst the two cultures.
In other words, Kaepernick believes the coronavirus disproportionately affects African American communities because white people wouldn’t allow them the same advantages that are actually readily available to all Americans regardless of race, gender or creed.
Actually, with the advent of Affirmative Action one could argue the opposite is actually true.
Kaepernick also says in his mind-numbing video, “Black and brown communities are being disproportionately devastated by COVID-19 because of hundreds of years of structural racism. That’s why we’ve established the Know Your Rights Camp COVID-19 Fund to help address these issues.”
His obnoxious comments about structural racism also ridiculously presume that white people don’t grow up poor. In his fairytale land, every single white person is born with a silver spoon in their mouth.
How long do we have to suffer through this man’s cultural effect? Will it ever end?
