Howard Stern is considered to be one of the best interviewers alive and it’s a little bit of an anomaly as to why.
He’s one of the highest paid personalities in media because of his “no nonsense” and “aggressive” interviews with some of the biggest celebrities in the world.
But now Howard Stern just admitted to being triggered by this new face on social media.
You would think that Howard Stern is thick skinned, wouldn’t you? In fact, if you live in the public eye then you kind of have to be because otherwise you’ll be crucified. It’s happened a million times before too.
In the face of public humility, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and a hundred other child stars caved under the pressure. To be fair, though, they are children despite making millions of dollars.
That’s why it was surprising to see Howard Stern getting “really triggered,” at the idea that O.J. Simpson is on Twitter.
It’s important to note that nobody is defending O.J. Simpson. “The Trial of the Century,” which occurred in the mid 1990s was one of the most heinous things in American history; not only because of the graphic nature of the double homicide but because almost everyone thinks that it was a gross miscarriage of justice.
Simpson did, however, eventually land in prison when he robbed a sports memorabilia dealer for what he claimed was his own personal merchandise. It doesn’t matter what he thought, he still robbed people and that’s a prison sentence.
But now Simpson is out of prison. He made parole after nine years into his 33 year prison sentence and felt the need to join Twitter.
This is why Howard Stern is “triggered.”
The Sirius XM radio host told listeners and Kim Goldman on Wednesday – who just so happens to be the sister of Ronald Goldman – that he was triggered.
He said, “I really got triggered because of O.J.’s Twitter feed. When someone kills your brother and they’re on the golf course and they’re sitting out there in their golf cart, living the life that most people don’t get to live … it’s got to be maddening.”
It makes sense that he would have that sentiment in front of Kim Goldman. Who wouldn’t to be honest?
Simpson has been pretty active on Twitter over the last month, which has been bizarre in and of itself.
He blasted Colin Kaepernick by saying, “Lately, I saw what Kaepernick pointed out — that the Betsy Ross flag was being used by some negative groups as their symbol. Well, I say don’t let the negative win. As far as I’m concerned, that flag represents the birth of America.”
It was his first video that was alarming to say the least.
On June 14th, an unverified Twitter account, TheRealOJ32, popped up causing most people to be skeptical, but his attorney Malcolm LaVergne confirmed it was him and it was real. It read, “Coming Soon!!!”
Towards the end of the video, he says something truly bizarre: “[Twitter] should be a lot of fun. I’ve got a little getting even to do. So God bless, take care.”
That is maybe the most tone-deaf thing ever said in history. “Should be a lot of fun” is something that should never be said by somebody who is infamous for getting away with murder.
However, Howard Stern showed some restraint with Kim Goldman and he was right to do so – something he’s notoriously known not to do.
