The Left has gone haywire since Donald Trump won in 2016.
It’s become particularly apparent in blue swamps like Hollywood.
And one entertainment star said something absurd to promote one racist idea.
The radical Left is dragging the supposed moderates to the fringes.
Now neo-Marxist ideas like critical race theory have become front and center to the Democrat agenda.
And Hollywood superstar Will Smith fell in line with the radical rhetoric being spouted by the Left.
During an interview with GQ, Smith said that CRT should simply be called “truth theory” in order to market it better.
Smith said:
“So ‘Abolish the police. Defund the police.’ I would love if we would just say ‘Defund the bad police.’ It’s almost like I want, as Black Americans, for us to change our marketing for the new position we’re in. So ‘critical race theory,’ just call it ‘truth theory.’”
CRT proposes—among other things—that any disparities between racial groups are examples of American racism.
CRT has crept into nearly every institution in America, and it’s having serious consequences.
For example, progressive district attorneys have attempted to superficially reduce the nonwhite prison population without much consideration to community harm.
The result has been increased violent crime rates in predominantly black and Latino neighborhoods.
Smith continued:
“I feel like the simplicity of Black Lives Matter was perfect. Anybody who tries to debate Black Lives Matter looks ridiculous. So when I talk about the marketing of our ideas, Black Lives Matter was perfection.”
Black Lives Matter the organization was founded by self-described “trained Marxists,” which was basically used to create a giant slush fund for the DNC.
Many local BLM chapters complained about leadership not providing them with any funding.
Subsequently, at least one of the founders of BLM has stepped down amid revelations that she went on a multimillion-dollar real estate shopping spree.
Smith is also papering over the carnage created by BLM followers across the country.
Smith added:
“From a standpoint of getting it done, Black Lives Matter gets it done. ‘Defund the police’ doesn’t get it done, no matter how good the ideas are…I’m not saying we shouldn’t defund the police. I’m saying, just don’t say that, because then people who would help you won’t.”
It’s ironic that some of Smith’s most prominent roles were as police officers, but he’s not against the idea of defunding the police.
And BLM activists don’t really want to defund the police; they just want to control the police.
Representative Cori Bush, a radical freshman congresswoman, called for the police to be defunded while she enjoys tens of thousands of dollars in personal security on the taxpayers’ dime.
Smith and other celebrities are providing cover for the radical leftists that are tearing apart the country and making life worse for the people they claim to represent.
Hollywood has lost much of its luster in large part because celebrities continue to preach to the rest of the country.
