Democrats constantly fearmonger about global warming.
They tell people the world is in peril without implementing their sweeping environmentalist policies.
Now acting legend Harrison Ford is doubling down on the scare tactics.
People on the right are skeptical about environmental alarmism, and with good reason.
Environmentalists view their cause with religious fervor that goes beyond science.
Throughout the years, they’ve been incredibly wrong about their predictions.
The planet was supposed to have run out of oil decades ago.
Now there’s more oil than ever, and the United States isn’t even reliant on Middle Eastern oil.
Environmentalists said global warming was an existential threat.
Then global cooling and an impending ice age was going to kill everyone.
After countless failed predictions, the environmentalists have settled on the catch-all phrase “climate change.”
The term means nothing because the climate is constantly changing.
The only questions are how much of that change is caused by humans, and if so, what’s the most practical way to deal with it.
The radical environmentalists believe mankind is the cause, and even propose the crackpot Malthusian theory of population control.
Environmentalism got a shot in the arm after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Many dedicated communists in the west didn’t give up on their dream.
They just stealthily slipped into other movements, including the environmentalist movement.
A lot of them became “watermelons,” i.e. green on the outside and red on the inside.
Environmentalism became another avenue for collectivists to control the means of production.
The latest environmentalist ploy to accomplish full-scale takeover of the economy is the Green New Deal proposed by freshman congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
But useful idiots in Hollywood parrot the dubious environmentalist talking points to scare people into giving away their freedom.
One big example of that is actor Harrison Ford.
Ford is an outspoken environmentalist, and like his entertainment industry comrades, has a large carbon footprint.
Ford flies vintage airplanes, and has a garage full of cars, motorcycles, and even a helicopter.
But he’s deeply concerned about climate change.
In hypocritical leftist fashion, Ford narrated a video that played at the World Government Summit in Dubai, UAE.
In the video, Ford said:
“Fresh water shortages, higher greenhouse gas emissions, unprecedented fires, worldwide destruction. Is this the world we want?”
A lot of these claims are overblown, or they’re the result of bad policy.
For example, California was recently hit with raging wildfires, but a large cause of that was policy that forbade the practice of controlled burns and other conservationist methods.
Ford continued in the video:
“Our planet, the only home we’ve got, is suffering…This is the bare truth. This is our reality. It’s up to you and me to act, now, to face the greatest moral crisis of our time. To take action. It is time to make a difference. It affects you.”
Leftists love to use this type of over-the-top language.
In the lead-up to her Green New Deal release, Ocasio-Cortez said everyone would die in 12 years if her plan isn’t implemented.
Al Gore uses the same scare tactics.
People seemingly got hip to Gore’s environmentalist scam.
He rings the alarm bell on the climate while taking private jets around the globe, purchasing beachfront homes in San Diego, and using enough electricity in his Tennessee home to power dozens of families.
Similar to Harrison Ford’s use of gas-guzzling vehicles, none of Gore’s actions portray a man deeply concerned about the environment.
