Pro sports have been unable to withstand the assault of “wokeness.”
The same goes for sports media.
And a former quarterback shockingly blamed Trump for one NFL sex scandal.
The corporate press was almost universally against Donald Trump during his administration, but the sports media was even more left-wing.
A survey showed that sports writers voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 in a greater percentage than did political writers.
So it’s no surprise that professional sports have gone “woke.”
The sports media are poking and prodding athletes to be more vocal about their views, unless of course their views are conservative.
Trump has become a convenient villain for left-wing reporters, and it’s no different in the sports world.
Now former quarterback Chris Simms invoked Trump’s name to dismiss a sex scandal involving superstar Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Watson has been accused of sexually harassing nearly two dozen masseuses, and Simms smeared the lawyer handling the lawsuits against Watson because he supported Trump in the 2020 election.

This isn’t the first time Simms climbed on his soapbox to attack Trump.
In 2019, Simms said of Trump, “He’s the most far-right that we’ve ever seen in a president.”
Simms presumably had nothing to say when Joe Biden was accused of sexual assault.
The entire corporate press did everything they could not to cover the story.
Accuser Tara Reade was only granted one primetime interview, and that was with “60 Minutes” in Australia, not even the American version.
Thus far, the allegations against Watson are only civil suits, but they could soon involve criminal charges.
From ABC News:
“If granted, the grand jury would then decide, through witness testimony closed to the public, if there is enough evidence to succeed at trial and in turn determine whether charges should be brought against Watson by the state of Texas.”
The sports world is in a bind with the Watson story.
On one hand, Watson has been on board with the social justice agenda; he kneeled for the national anthem on Thanksgiving Day in a matchup against the Detroit Lions.
On the other hand, the Left has conditioned people to “believe all women” even before due process has taken place.
There are still a lot of unknowns with the story, so time will tell if the allegations against Watson have merit.
He’s going to have a difficult time explaining why he reached out to so many masseuses on Instagram even though he’s an elite athlete who signed a $160 million contract.
