The Biden administration has been a complete disaster for the country.
His failed presidency is forcing people to get politically active.
Now a former NFL great is running for office to stop Biden from doing one thing.
The tyranny of the COVID regime is largely over.
Even deep-blue cities like San Francisco have dropped vaccine passport requirements.
Some have joked that Vladimir Putin “cured” COVID by invading Ukraine and diverting the attention of the Biden administration and the corporate press.
But former NFL great Matt Light does not believe the threat of the COVID regime is over.
Light, an offensive lineman who won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, is running for school committee in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The number one issue for Light is the draconian mandates surrounding COVID.
Light was not at all a fan of forcing people to wear masks and take vaccines.
From NBC Boston:
“When it comes to what he’s not happy about with the school system, Light says the mask issue is a big topic. Light feels it was wrong for children to be forced to wear masks at school when research showed the vast majority were not seriously affected by COVID-19. ‘We saw other ways of doing things and when we would bring those up or we’d offer, you know, some other insights or, you know, studies that have been done… it just didn’t seem to carry any weight.’”
Light also explained that people had been cowed into silence because they did not want to be branded as “deniers.”
When asked about mask mandates that are no longer required in Foxborough, Light said, “[I]t’s something that people tell me like, “hey you don’t have to worry about that anymore. It’s over’…But what happens the next time?…And I’ve never been an anti-masker. I’ve been an anti ‘tell me what to do and expect me to fall in line.’”
Light said he did not plan to declare a party in his run for school committee, but it’s nearly impossible to be a Democrat and vehemently oppose the edicts of the COVID regime.
Light is correct to be concerned about COVID restrictions coming back.
Dr. Anthony Fauci and other public health officials have shown a willingness to turn on a dime at any moment.
In a recent interview, Fauci was somewhat ambivalent on the strategy of lockdowns after pushing for them for two years.
Fauci said, “I don’t think we’re ever gonna be able to determine what the right balance is. I think the ‘restrictions’—if you want to use that word, which I tend to shy away from—lockdown—they’ve certainly prevented a lot of infections, prevented a lot of hospitalizations, and prevented a lot of deaths. There’s no doubt about that. Obviously, when you do have that kind of restriction on society, there are unintended negative consequences, particularly in children who are not allowed to go to school, in the psychological and mental health aspects it has on children, in the economic stress that it puts on society in general on individual families. Obviously, those are negative consequences that are unintended.”
If Fauci and his ilk come back, there need to be more people like Light in positions of authority.
