Current and former athletes are being forced to adopt “woke” talking points.
But some are pushing back against the propaganda.
And a former NBA player refuses to go along with one insane leftist idea.
The left is making a relentless push with radical gender theory.
Leftists are attempting to strong-arm the entire population to get on board with the idea that men can become women and vice versa.
Not only that, they’re pushing the idea on young children, which was a line in the sand for many.
One of the consequences of this absurd concept is biological males competing against females in sports.
And former NBA player Matt Barnes is not on board with it.
Barnes said in an interview, “I don’t like that…Whatever you’re born, I feel like you should play in that space…If you’re born a woman, you should play women’s sports. If you’re born a man, you should play men’s sports. I think the sports thing is a little different…You do you….[but sports] is a little different…it’s a line that shouldn’t be crossed.”
It’s ridiculous that such a thing even needs to be said, but this is how crazy the left has become.
Female track athletes in Connecticut spoke out against biological males competing in their division after having competed with the boys the year before.
The two biological males dominated the division and ended up costing females sports in meets and opportunities to showcase their talent for college scouts.
Collegiate swimmer Lia Thomas, who competed in the men’s division as William Thomas, shattered records at the University of Pennsylvania.
Thomas went from ranked around 500 in the men’s division to ranked number one and beating Olympic records.
Former female swimmers and coaches wrote a letter to the NCAA that read:
“According to Duke’s Center for Sports Law and Policy, ‘there is an average 10-12% performance gap between elite males and elite females’ in sport. What advantage does testosterone have for natural born men in swimming specifically? This year in the 500 freestyle the men’s A standard qualifying time is 4:11.62. The women’s A standard qualifying time was 4:35.76. That is a difference of 24.14 seconds. To put that into perspective, the male swimmer in the last seed going into the meet would be two full laps ahead of his female counterpart in this event. This one example alone demonstrates the advantages a biologically male swimmer has over a female. Physiological advantages exist.”
Real-world decisions should not be put in the hands of far-left ideologues whose ideas are cooked up in radical corners of college campuses.
Barnes and other current and former professional athletes have begun to speak up, but it’s not nearly enough.
This crazy idea has gotten a foothold in the culture, and prominent liberals are endorsing it.
