Many celebrities have been taken down by #MeToo allegations.
Public figures in media, entertainment, and politics have all seen their careers destroyed.
Now a former Major League Baseball star got hit with one shocking sex scandal.
Former Cleveland Indians (soon to be Guardians) defensive wizard Omar Vizquel just got accused of a horrific sex crime.
The 11-time Gold Glove-winning shortstop was accused by a former ballboy of sexual misconduct when Vizquel was a minor league manager.
From The New York Post:
“Former MLB star shortstop Omar Vizquel exposed his penis to an autistic bat boy multiple times and forced him to wash his back as he showered, a civil lawsuit claims. The lawsuit filed by Friday by a 25-year-old man who worked as a batboy for the Chicago White Sox’s Double-A affiliate, the Birmingham Barons, while Vizquel was managing the team in 2019 alleges the ex-MLB star victimized him by ‘deliberately’ exposing his partially or fully aroused private part on at least five occasions.”
The American people have low tolerance for sexual predators, so Vizquel would be ruined forever if the allegations are proven true.
More from The Post:
“The man claims Vizquel ‘targeted’ him for sexual harassment because of his disability. He also considered Vizquel a friend and told him he had autism during the 2019 season, according to the filing. In June 2019, the man claims Vizquel told him he was homosexual, telling him in the dugout, ‘I just want you to know that I’m gay’ and ‘I like guys,’ the lawsuit reads. The man let Vizquel know he wasn’t interested, but the Barons manager proceeded to pay ‘far more attention’ to the batboy than his four other counterparts, according to the suit.”
Complicating matters for Vizquel is the fact his wife accused him of domestic violence during divorce proceedings.
Blanca Vizquel said that her husband threatened her with financial ruin if she disclosed what went on in their marriage.
She said, “I was scared for these moments for a long time. And I stayed because of that…I made a decision to leave the house and not come back. I didn’t want to feel that feeling where you didn’t know if you’re gonna be safe.”
Vizquel is just the latest sports figure to get caught up in troubling sexual misconduct allegations.
Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson is facing a spate of sexual harassment accusations from massage therapists he contacted via Instagram.
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer was also accused of choking and punching a woman during sex.
The allegations against Vizquel are disturbing to say the least.
His chances of reaching the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown just took a severe hit.
The #MeToo movement disintegrated after Tara Reade’s accusations against Joe Biden largely fell on deaf ears, but sexual assault allegations are still taken with the utmost seriousness.
